Hi

Appreciate comments from anyone using these blades.

How do they compare to other blades you've used ? How do they sit in the hover ? How do they 'handle' in the aero's ? Auto performance ? Any negatives ? How different was the cyclic response ? Any adjustments made to the heli to suit these blades ?

Currently I'm using SAB 0205's 685mm. Good blades which are very neutral and very predictable, but I'm tempted to try some longer blades and like the look of these.

Most of the USA contest pilots at one time were using the CarbonTech/RotorTech 720 mm blades. These are the same ones that Scott uses. I used them and I really liked how they performed. If you have the power to spin them at 1900 plus rpm, they will perform great. The blades are made by FunKey. They use the Carbon Tech name on them.

My understanding is that the RT Scott Gray 720's are the same as the "stock" RT 720's, but weigh more (the SG's are 245g, I believe). I'm not aware of any other differences besides cosmetics. I've not used a pair, though, so I can only speak anecdotally.

The one's I got weigh 205, with 125 at the tip.

The one's Baron Johnson got, which were from an early batch, weigh 218.

And they do fly very nice, especially when it comes to autos.

Whoops. I had seen 225, not 245. My mistake.

I was going off the figures from the Century website:

In any event, it's nice to know that you can get them in varying weights. So what makes them different from the standard RT's? Just cosmetics, or are there other structural differences (like a different airfoil)?
