hi all
anyone been able to auto with align pro woodies on there MT's?
i'm still not able to get the flair correct, and hard landing everytime... :arggg:wondering if i'm just waisting time/money practicing with these blades?

It's not the wood blades...it's the size of the heli. Most, if not all, 450 size heli's don't auto well. The blade of a 450 size heli do not have enough cross-sectional area and potential energy to perform an auto from a very high elevation. If you start an auto too high, you may have to give it negative pitch to spin the blades up to gain more potential energy and velocity - downside is it will loose altitude faster.
The key to flairing is to come into the approach like you're landing an airplane. When you get near to the ground, give bakwards elevator to flair the tail.

Thanks for responce... i actually posted it on the the trex forum as well.. naught i know.. they actaully send link of youtube clip. funky 450 auto's showing auto's are possible
after some thought/watching vids, i'm sure i flair to late . my forward speed still way to high when i hit the ground, which causes the skids to hook in the grass and topple over..
will try some more next time at the field.. wind been blowing here last few days ;-(

After watching them few times and analyzing them, I went out today and did about 10 practice runs. After that bit the bullut and 2 succesfull auto's:YeaBaby: MY FIRST EVER!!!:YeaBaby:
third was almost perfect, came it sideways and topple over.. no damage!!:thumbup:
