I'm moving from a Blade 400 that came with it's own LiPo and charger into new territory... a Trex 500.

So I picked up an Align 6s 2500mAh battery and a Hyperion Duo charger. I soldered all the connectors on (I have experience with soldering), and have a 13.8VDC 25amp power supply to power the Hyperion charger.

However, now I'm stuck... The Align battery has what appear to be 2 seperate balance charger plugs on it.

Knowing the risk of an "oops" with a LiPo can be a dstroyed battery or fire, I figured I'd better err on the side of caution and ask here for help.

Do I need a seperate adaptor between the Hyperion balance "dongle" and the one or both of the balance plugs on the Align battery?

And what are the major "gotchas" that I need to set to get this battery charged? This battery being charged is all that's standing in the way of me flying the Trex for the first time...

The 4 page Hyperion manual doesn't really go into any great detail about the balance connectors that I can see.

You do need a Hyperion connector for Align batteries. It is the HP-LB10-XH and it's back ordered for a couple of weeks. Here is a link http://www.allerc.com/product_info.php?cPath=10&products_id=3159

I am waiting for that also.. Good luck Panos:arggg:

I'm in the exact same boat. I purchased a Hyperion Duo from some place online and they said I also needed two adapter plates. However, they must be the wrong plates because the female plug on the battery (Also Align 6S 2500) doesn't match any of the male connectors on the board, not even close.

So I just got off the phone with the place where I bought the charger, and, according to the owner of the store, Align has changed their format for their charge plugs on the batteries. He said that there are now three different formats on the Align batteries, and this latest one (where you have a smaller, 3 pin plug and a larger, 5 pin plug) is the Thunder Power style. Anybody else experiencing this?

Some shops offer the Aligns in both configurations. Personally, I prefer the older JST-XH styles connector. I find the TP connectors difficult to remove from the balancer.

So let me get this straight..

with two balance taps on a 6s pack I would only need 1 adapter board?

and to charge 2 6s align packs on the duo I would need 2 boards correct?

hey sean oc ya you need one adapter for each battery. and i dont see how the other guy thinks tp adapters are hard to get out ? there the easest to get out . push the clip and pull simle. some aligns have the xh style adapter but i just bought every adapter for the duo so i would have them in case someone at the feild needs to use it also.
