Hi All,
Finally finished up the model. Hooked up the esc power jazz and went out side to see which direction the rotor was spinning. Surely it was spinning the wrong way and with a simple change of wiring all went well.
It was very responsive. While trying to trim it out and getting a feel for the rudder etc I stripped a main gear.
All within 2 minuets . Does any one have any ideas what could have caused this?
Kindly let me have your thoughts. I hope to replace the main gear in the morning when I can actually see the c clip. Thanks

1) Gear lash.
2) Throttle curve (set too high right off yhe bat it accelerates too hard and strips gears out
3) wrong gear combo (not likely)
4) miss alignment of gears

Most likely (1) and (4)
If there wasn't any binding in the drive trane, you most likey had too much lash (play between the pinion on motor and the driven gear.
Make sure the main gear (driven) is not riding too far down on the pinion. It must not be driving on any of the tapered part.

IMHO

I am new to heli world and don't know what a Jazz is or anything.

I found this here and don't kow if it helps or makes things more confusing for you?

What radio do you have?
In my DX7 I can program the throttle curve etc. Perhap you can look at that area.
Whatever is controlling your throttle needs looking into. If you start it rotating and and you can't spool up gradually, there's a problem. You should be able to spool as fast or slow as you want. The link above tells of how that esc helps in this, but again I am new to this stuff.

You need to determine if it's a mechanical problem or a programming problem. ...then again, maybe an opporator error problem??? If you can spool up smoothly, then it must be a set-up issue (gear lash or placement. IMHO
