Hi, I'm kinda new at this 3D RC Heli... I used to have the miniature ones (and fly it around the office too!). Now I think I'm ready for 3D! :P

I have an Esky Belt CP EK1H-E013 and just got this as a gift (*apparently for doing a good job last quarter) and I need your assistance or guidance in understanding a couple of things...

1) What does the GYRO SWITCH on the 6CH remote do? Like will it turn the GYRO ON/OFF?
2) What happens if the GYRO is turned off?
3) Where do I get eBooks, tutorials or reference/s on how to do the perform tricks on the heli?
4) Any suggestions on upgrades for this heli?

I'd really appreciate if you'd post your replies to this thread.

Thanks in advance to those who have spent their time reading this.

You are at the best place to find all the information you need. Watch the Finless tutorials. Read through the forum. Put the tricks on the back burner. You need to learn how to fly the helicopter before you learn the tricks. It is difficult, and can be expensive. There are a million threads on here about what to do when starting this hobby. If all you are interested in is cool tricks, prepare to spend a lot of time and money rebuilding. If you are interested in becoming a proficient pilot that can do tricks, prepare to spend even more time and money. A sim will help but a few people have done it without a sim. Google Radd's School of Flight, he has a decent way to get started. Basically, before you can even consider tricks, you need to be able to hover in all orientations, both upright and inverted. You need to be able to fly in forward and backward flight. You need to be able to transition from upright to inverted and back proficiently. This is because if you mess up on a trick, you need to be able to recover, or you will crash, and those basic skills are the foundation of the tricks. Like I said, just start reading. If you don't know how or why a helicopter flies, learn that as well.

Listen to the man, Finless knows his stuff! I'm not even gonna try 3d on my new heli for awhile.

These guys are diffinantly telling you the right thing to do. I started out with planes several years ago and thought I could make a quick transition, NO. I got a 450se V2 for Xmas and decided after spending this much money on the Trex, that I would do like everyone advises, get a simulator and have your crash minimized, by gaining some skills before you get out there with real thing. Good luck

That's what all the plane flyers at my job think....."thought I could make a quick transition"
If they only knew the truth.....but I am not the one to tell them..
