I am in the middle of building a 600 N I would like to ask for advice on which gyro i could use, As i am only
going to be sport flying to start with (As i am not yet at 3D level) would a 401 with a 9650 tail servo work okay on a 600N . Or would i be better spending a bit more and go for a 611 or a solid G . Thanks.

I went for Solid G..Its awsome..with a good tail servo you never need to upgrade. Easy to set up and you fly in no time!:)
I love it! would not swap for anything!
And its HOT to look at;)

I would not use that 9650 on the 600N. That's a mini servo and I personally wouldn't trust it on a bigger nitro heli. If you are gonna use a 401, get the 9254 servo.

If you get the Solid G from your lhs make sure is has the quality control stickers on it or you will end up sending it in to get cleaned causing delays. Check out the Curtis Youngblood website for pic refrences

I got one last week from lhs, instead of ordering me a new one they told me to send it in, little po'ed about the whole deal. Would order more stuff from redi heli but there always out of stock on the stuff I need.

If you're only sport flying, the 401/9254 combo would be easily the best combo for the price IMO. Also JR's 770/8900 combo is just a little more and it will take you way past sport flying.

JR7703D & 8900 Combo by far the best gyro period as far as i am concerned. The 401 is good but you will grow out of it quickly! Just my 2cents!!

Also consider the CSM SL720 with the JR 8900G for instance. Works wonderfully, and is a breeze to set up.

GY 401 with S9254 is very good. You will probably heve problem when flying backwards.
For me the best solution is LogicTech 6100T/ 6100G High Speed T/R Servo & Gyro Combo (http://www.readyheli.com/LogicTech_6100T_6100G_High_Speed_T_R_Servo_Gyro_p/138370.htm). It is similar to GY611 and it is much cheaper.

In the limited flying time I've had thus far (limited only by my incompetence), I've been very happy with the G770/DS8900G combo. I flew it in a hefty crosswind last weekend and the tail was holding solidly. I just used the gain recommended for the T-Rex 600N in the G770 manual (24%) and haven't found a reason yet to tweak it.

Looking at building the 600N, has anyone tried the Logictech 6100T. Any opinions?
