I am desperate to get an Airwolf body for an extra Trex 450 SE V1.5 I have lying around. I have seen the Fusuno which seems a little low end, especially with rivets.

http://www.fusuno.com/home/detail.php?type=product&iPro=84

I have also looked at the Heliartist with retracts and it looks like the best one out there.

Any comments on other choices?

I also want a lighting system, I found this but wonder if there are others.

All comments welcome, thanks!

I have the red Fusano Airwolf on my TRex, done up as USCG with vinyl from Callie Graphics. I also use Than's lights on it as well. Looks great as well as being functional. I put the red RC-Tek Diablo head and tail on mine to make them red instead of the blue which clashed color-wise. Also, the overslung flybar makes for another conversation piece. The Fusano retracts took a bit of work to fully retract into the body, but it looks good now. I had a Kool Models Airwolf before, made out of plastic instead of fiberglass. That one was inferior to the Fusano. Haven't seen the Heli-Artist one.

I attached a few pics of it in its latest condition. Ignore the junky yellow lipo--that's just for bench tests.

I have the heliartist blue version, and it now comes with retracts. Its great quality and the way the front end mounts with magnets is pure genius, making the battery easy to change.

I got lights from ebay, theres a thread here

Theres a lot of talk about 450 fuselages over on heliguy, and the heliartist comes out as a favourite over the fusuno

Both your fuses look great but I am leaning towards the Heliartist version. It seems the quality is one step above. My only problem is finding a local source. Anyone know where to get it in the US or Canada? I saw this:

Price is right but it is in singapore and I have heard about issues. Anyone have comments?

At the last second my son and I decided the blue version looked nicer and ordered that one. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I had heard someone on a forum say Flying Hobby was having trouble lately. Your post and the fact that they take paypal gave me the confidence I needed.

I wonder how long speedpost takes to the us and whether I am going to get hit with duties. I will definitely post pics when i get it and let you know about my shipping experience.

frogbmth,

I noticed you bought retracts seperately. I bought what Heliartist calls an Airwolf V2 with retracts. Do you know anything about what makes the fuse a V2? Are the included retracts made by Heliartists or are they bundled? I also could not find the link for the strobes, would you mind posting it again?

Thanks!

The V2 fuselage has the new magnetic arrangement for putting the nose on, it works great. The v1 doesnt have this. Only a few weeks ago the new heliartist retracts on the wooden tray were introduced bundled with the fuse, and they seem to work well. There is a chap over on heliguy that has posted some pics of the system.

Unfortunately they werent available when I got mine, so I had to buy a third party retract kit that I butchered in every way lol

I have sent you a PM with th email of the guy making the lights

I ordered my Heli-Artist Air Wolf (with retracts) from Fly Hobby Thursday. I debated between the blue and black and finally decided to go black as the original TV version. It looked pretty nice in the pictures and video. Glad to hear that other buyers have been happy with it.
