LOL, man I thought I understood this technology.. But I learned something last night..
So here's the setup.
New 9303 transmitter
New R921 (which appears the same as the AR9000)
Connect reciever to Heli
Connect bind plug
Turn on receiver, light blink rapidly
Turn on Tx holding bind switch
Wiggle controlls and servo's move.So far, that is absolutely normal! Now for the new part.
Realize throttle servo is backwards,
Reverse channel in Tx
Set travel limits
Turn Rx off, connect bind plug, Turn RX on
Turn Tx off, press bind button, turn on
Rx lights will look like they found the Tx, As you power cycle Tx the Rx ANT ligts go on and off like you'd expect, but non of the servos will work.
Turn Rx off then on, Servo's will arm, but you won't have any controll...The problem, as I see it, is the new Rapid Connect / Brown Out Protection implementation. This new code is a little too aggressive on rapid connect. It will go into rapid connect mode even if the bind plug magically appeared in mid flight...
While it is in Rapid recovery mode, the bind plug doesn't work as expected. I spent about 2 hours taking things apart and trying to find my fault. In the end, the trick was to either:
Turn both Tx and Rx off for 30+ minutes, then re-bind.
Turn off Tx BEFORE turning off Rx. When Rx comes back on it will do a full boot instead of a rapid recovery boot.Bottom line, if it powers up into rapid recovery mode, the bind system won't work. You can tell if your in Rapid recover mode by the following:
The ANT lights blink oddly if bind plug is left out
If Bind plug installed, the 2 Internal ANT lights work as normal, but the external ANT light rapid blinks... (oh and your binds fail):arggg::arggg::arggg::arggg::arggg::arggg::ar ggg::arggg::arggg::arggg::arggg::arggg:
