Well Bob...it depends. What are you willing to invest in the hobby? If you want to use a free sim that will get you some decent training then you just need a cable. BUT, if you're in this for a while (which means you should be able to afford a sim) you should pick up Phoenix. It is awesome. Firstly of course it has a great physics model but it also has beautiful sceneries, easily modified heli's (flight characteristics and canopy color), failure practice, online play, water interaction, etc., etc. For me it's all the other little things that make it easier for me to spend time on the sim. Before I got Phoenix it felt like work to practice on the sim. Phoenix is a blast.

Besides the ~$150 investment in Phoenix will pay for itself in the first one or two crashes you avoid with the real heli. A flight sim truely is an investment that pays for itself in avoided crashes and invaluable flight experience.

It should be cheaper than $150 for you, twinkle, considering where you live.

Cheers to you, too! :cheers

If I have the chance to visit Isle of Man, you'll have to introduce me to your heli. I've been following your progress ever since the "a senile noobie" thread you started back in February. The progress you have made is tremendous. It looks like you're officially addicted!
