Question, if you have the choice of running your servos at 5 volt or 6 volt which would be better based on what I have?

Copter X 450
All digital servos

I know the specs say the servo's are faster on 6 volts but will I sacrifice time flying to run them on 6 volt vs 5 volt? Or is it so minor it won't make a differance for time flying or the performace of the servos?

I'm putting a BEC on and I have the choice of 5 or 6 volt.

Thanks for any help.

i don't think you'll notice much difference in power consumption between 5 and 6 volts, but your servos will be much stronger and faster on 6.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm running JR DS285's for the swash and Futaba 9650 on the tail. So 6v it is.

If you're using a linear BEC (in the ESC) then it will run a bit cooler on 6V too.

6 Volts is your best option. If you think it through from a OHMS Law stand point, higher voltage is desirable. Plus you get the benefit of stronger, faster, servo action. The diffrence in battery life will be negligible.
