So, I'm finishing my electronics install and I noticed something strange about my 9254 tail servo. During it's full range of motion it (high speed) pulses rather than moving smoothly throughout the range of motion. This is with stick input. It seems a little less obvious when I move the tail of the heli around its vertical axis as the gyro compensates. Is it me, or is that not right? I also turned the power off, and if I move the servo through it's range it feels strange on the outer points of its range. It almost feels like there's sand in the gears if that helps picture it. It's brand new out of the box.
Gyro=401
Stepdown=Western Robotics
Rx=AR7000
Thanks.

By pulsing do you mean it is like jerking, If it's doing what mine was doing I don't think it is normal, but I bought another 9254 thinking that would fix it but it did the same thing. Flown 2 gallons with the servo like that and no problems other than this pulsing jerking problem, I hope someone can answer this one.

I know a lot of guys are running this servo on the 600n and many others helis. Can anyone else check or confirm this pulsing with this servo? I'm not sure I would call it jerking, but I can see it transmit through the pushrods and to the tail. It's more noticeable when moving the stick slowly. If I whip the control stick left and right quickly I don't really see it. To add, I put my finger lightly on the servo horn and it can be felt too. Anyone else or thoughts??

Still wondering about this one guys...should my 9254 be smooth as glass through its range of motion? Mine is just weird with the high freq. pulse as it moves. I don't get that.
i have these servos on both my 500 and 600n. I thought the same thing as you. real jerky motion. But since both of mine and yours do it, it must be normal. I have had absolutely no issues with them in flight like this though.I wouldnt worry as it seems to be the way they are.

Yes..you can see it as the servo moves. It's really strange. I'm getting ready to maiden my 600 and want to make sure this is or is not the norm.

Like I posted above mine does it to and I even bought another one and swapped out, still does it. I don't know why it does it but I have had no problems with it in flight.

Well I've got about 10 minutes worth of flight time on it now. I decided to maiden the thing today. No strange reactions from that servo. All went rather well. I'll start leaning it out tomorrow and get some FF in. I love the sound of those large blades spanking the air. :thumbup:
