i had it with the cables and zip ties being all over the heli.....
and cut everything short except the gyro.
i also tried to make the cables as invisible as possible.
...now it's more likely

Nice. How's that gyro location working out for you?

T,

Wrap your tail servo wire up in a coil, looks pretty taught, if you have a boom strike or bad landing on your tail it could rip you tail servo apart

All you need is a screw driver or a pen and just wrap your wire around, it gives a nice clean look and coil action should something go really bad.

Everything else looks GREAT!

Very nice and tidy.

How did you reconnect all the connector pins, and did you buy new servo connectors?

Peter

I just finished up my wiring Ill have to get some pictures up, I only used 2 zip ties, 1 for the RX and then other for the ESC, I used shrink tubing and hot glue to take care of the rest and it came pretty clean.

Cryofix - How did you shorten your wires. Please enlighten me. :noteworthy

I will have to show you in pictures it tough to explain, but up front right by the pitch servo is some room to squeeze in wires, so i took all cyclic servo wires, pulled them taught, and folded them, so they overlap each other, then I put a piece of shrink around them to get them nice and tight, and tucked them in up front in between the frame and the pitch/aileron servo, this is also where I placed my RX, right on that slant so when i strapped the RX down it hid the wires.

i bought servo connectors and a quality crimping tool.
but if you go that route, get a good crimping tool the one with the ratchet,
some have cheaper ones, but these are pliers type tools that are not good enough.
i had one of those too,a pain in the rear....

In racing, we used to have a term... "Sano", short for <sanitary>.

Cryo, that's a sano bird!

To echo others questions though, and not directed particularly to you, is there a technique or a tool to pull the connectors from the servo plugs, shorten these wires, reduce the clutter, and leave a bunch of copper on the ground, where it belongs?

I didnt shorten the wires, i just hid them, i pulled all the cyclic wires taught and then neatly bunched them and shrink wrapped them, they all fit right behind the RX in the little nook by the aileron/pitch servos.

To answer your question, there is a crimping tool available for the pins that slide into the connector, also I use an exacto knife to lift the little tabs on the connectors and slide the metal out, then snip, replace connector and slide it back in.

Tool is a bout 15 on readyheli then you need to buy pins.

Thanks for the compliment.

nice ,i like the gyro tray.

real easy to do, only adds a few grams to the trunk, just don't do it the morning after you have been drinking all night, very very easy to make a mistake with this small carbon fiber.

I brought new Futaba connectors think I only pad £1.50 for 4 thats about $3. was also useful as I use futaba electrics and the connectors are slightly different on the hs45's these don't have that little lug to ensure you have them in the right way. I actually soldiered mine and crimped to be sure to be sure ;0)
