200 Freaks,

I've been up in the castle's west tower all day trying to get advertising agents to write technical specs.

..and a long day at that. I have enough voltage, but and hour or so later, they go comatose, or start screaming laundry soap jingles.

No, I don't think it's going to work...

Got tired of just reading reams of sales crud on my gyro and servo's, so I put together a listing, though I'd post it here...

Don't know if this will help anyone, let me know. Also, this is not comprehensive, and probably prone to error, but if anyone likes it, and would like to help clean it up, please PM me, with text in a similar arrangement. I'll update and re-post.

Nice comparison, thanks. Not sure what you mean by "clean it up," but you might want to add the Spektrum DSP60 to the cyclic list:

Weight: 6g
Length: 10mm
Depth: 19mm
Width: 23mm
Torque: 13.2oz
Speed: .09sec

That was exactly what I meant!!!
I'll get it added.

I'll sorta wait around on uploading an new .txt file until I get the general consensus.

Also,
1. I'm also looking for thoughts on additional specs or features to list
2. The "+"'s indicate positive feedback from someone here that knows what they're doing.
3. This is for Gaui-200 usable equipment only on this version.
4. I've started working on some feature codes, such as "temp" for temperature calibration.

Thanks Surf!

That is exactly what I am looking for, someone putting all the suitable servo's for gaui 200.
I have only 1 remark regarding the table, it is maybe handy to put the totque beside the oz/in also in kg/cm? just divide oz/in by 13.88 to get kg/cm. The dimension of the servo is also in metric system , that's why I think the torque should also be in metric.
Anyway, I do appreciate very much of your effort , cause I am also a gaui 200 freak :YeaBaby:

Greybeard,

I'm fairly confident that not all of those will work on the swash of an EP200 - anything much bigger than an HS-45 will be too big.

On mine I have tried HS-45s and the GWS Pico.

Cheers,
Mike.

As for servos, the HS 45 is a super snug fit so if you use this list use that as your base line for the largest servo you can use, anything larger and you will need to make frame modifications.

Good points,

first, no sense WHATSOEVER for using inches when working this small, and mixing units is a crime in my circles, soo....Kg/cm it is!

Regarding larger sizes, my thinking was to "prove" that some won't fit (though this hobby is all about making impossible new stuff work), as well as allowing some more range for a better selection of tail servos. If I got too narrow-minded, I would'nt have included that heavy beast of a 401 in the list, eh? ;-)

The feedback has been 110% positive. I think I'm going to let this thread run out naturally, then incorporate the updates, and repost every so often using a similar thread name and the version number. Don't want to create too much confusion. ...and, one thing I learned doing this type of stuff before. Let us not allow it to become a podium, just facts and results, okay?

***Next, would you folks be interested in a similar thread for blades and batteries????***

-----------------------------------------

Please give me more gyro and servo selections/reviews (with specs) on stuff that you've actually tested in the 200. I'm going to use the "+" to indicate a happy user, "-" will mean substandard performance or setup hassles. Also more suggestions like the above would be appreciated, particularly those on how to list "trick" features with a two-three letter code, (i.e. "tc" for temperature correction).

Lastly, I still don't have my bird delivered. Could someone get me the stock, maximum dimensions of the servo mounts and max servo dimensions available for tail servo?

The maximum dimension of the servo for the swash is: 23.6 x 10 x 18.6 mm (=l x w x d)
However, the depth is not that problem, so the best configuration would be Hitec HS 55 HB, because it has karbonite gears, fast and high torque.
I am using waypoint servo's and busy with replacing with the servo mentioned before.
As for the tail servo, I am using : http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5195
it is fast, high torque and digital.
As gyro, I am using ...... Walkera G011, meant as a temporary, but it holds the tail very well, so I keep it in here. The advantage is, it cost only € 25 including shippings cost.
I have ordered CSM 420 SL gyro for this gaui, but I think I will not change the walkera.

Except it won't fit as it is too big  23 x 24 x 12

Please include the Logitech LTS-3100g rudder servo in the list. http://www.grandrc.com/inc/sdetail/109221
It only works with the 2100 gyro as I purchased one by itself to use on the 401 and found out the hard way that it doesn't work. I also tried it on my JR7703d gyro and still with no luck. Lucky for me a friend with a Logitech 2100 was happy to take it off me.

Yea the Hitec gyro is the same as the Logictech but the firmware in the Hitec wont allow the 3100 to work and vice a versa
