Hello all I really like the idea of the 2in1 love the auto glow and lipo for RX. Anyway I just got a brand new one for my Raptor 50 SE, it arrived DOA. I pulled the one out of my 600n that has 3 flights on it and it's messed up. The red led lights and thats it flick the switch between on and off and all the greens light like they should but they all go out as soon as it is full on. The brand new unit shows just the red 1 flight left light in the off position and nothing when turned on. Any suggestions? They are both the newer version of the 2-1. :arggg:

I have two of them, one on each of my 600N's. I have two gallons through each bird, and not one problem with either. Maybe I'm just lucky, but as long as they keep me flying with not a problem I'm all for them.
I do have to say, though that they will BOTH hit the road if either causes a crash, or even acts flaky.

I hope there are no problems with the new ones. I'm getting ready to put mine in the air. It makes me nervous.

As long as you do bench check, make sure no binding on any servo. it have no problem at all! more than 15,000 2-In-1 on the market and we didn't receive many back due to defected! also Base on my experienced, if your servo went bad and took too much current, it could caused problem, other than that, all of our sponsor pilots and field rep. didn't report back got problem on it! personal I using two on my T600 and been through over 200 flights!

Thank you Andy. I will do my final bench tests before flight. I'm going to use it, and during my setup I did not see the 2in1 act funny at all.

Switched to 2.4 Ghz after the first crash as I suspected a lock out with the new ATG and Carb smart on 35MHz. 4 tanks later my 2 in 1 quits without warning!! I will be buying a 700 but I have used my last piece of electronic kit from Align!!! Thats for sure. Better luck to you all!!

Sorry to hear about the problems. I think we all need a little luck here. I hope mine works fine.

I really love the unit. Fits the 600 so nice and the auto glow is great. I planned to add them to all 6 of my Raptors. A big + Align contacted me through the forum and is going to take care of the problem for me. Thats a big A+.:) I here split opinions on this some say great no problems and others do not like it.

Sadly any kind of electronics equipment can fail. We don't run fully redundant systems in these models so we have to take care of what we do end up running.
I made sure mine was backed with a 1/2" of foam and tied down with velcro straps (won't transfer vibration like a zip tie). On everything, basically my foam has velcro on both sides so the foam velcros to the frame, the component velcros to the foam then its all secured with a strap - it keeps it from sliding/wiggling out from under the strap.
Possibly overkill but my last few builds prior to this Trex were giant scale gas powered aerobatic planes. Vibration will kill an electronic component faster than you can blink.

As you all know I have the original unit and glued down my wires and sealed off the ends of the unit with shoe goo.... Many flights and no problems! I would prefer to have the newer model but no need as mine is working fine.

What scares me is that it was never in a helicopter! I took it DOA out of the brand new sealed box. And my original one died after 3 more like 2 1/2 flights. I had a nice peice of RX foam behind it and int he slot where align tells you to mount the GV1 display. Battery on the opposite side also with a nice layer of foam and a velcro radiogear strap holding it all snug.

I am going to give the replacements a try. Hope I am not making a mistake $$$$$$
Is it advisable to wrap both sides in RX wrap? I had a nice layer under it but am thinking of wrapping the whole thing. It has fins I assumed aided in cooling and I did not want to inhibit the cooling.

If you use industrial strength Velcro, you won't have any problems with keeping it secure, even without wrapping it. Heat dissipation is one reason I avoided wrapping mine.

Mine is working flawlessly. Hi only used ti-wrap and Velcro and it is quite solid.

Don't wrap 2-In-1 BEC into any rubber foam! you need keep heat sink cooling! 5 digital servos load it up hard will get heat up BEC, you need keep air flow to cool it down. maybe that's why your 2-In-1 BEC failed in 3 flys, be careful!

Usually a large heat-sink is a good indication that HEAT should be allowed to dissipate ;) Wrapping it is not the best idea.

I had mine mounted with a layer of RX foam behind it and just two thin Align velcro straps holding it. I thought it needed to be cooled. Thats why I asked if anyone is or if you could wrap it. The fins on it made me think no. So that does not explain why I had one die in 3 flights. Also I had the brand new one bad right out of the box. This was going in a Raptor and I was going to use gyro tape (zeal) to mount it under the radio tray and a velcro strap for security, so I dont see a peroblem with that install when I get the replacements
