500 and Hecules BEC

Hi,

I am running a Western Robotics Hercules BEC, the 5amp model. I just wanted to know if I had to set the Stock Align ESC voltage still. I am assuming that I dont but I wanted to check with you guys. The BEC has a jumper for 5 or 6 volts and I have set it to 6 volts. Is that all I need to do? I also have a step down link for the tail servo.

drzoidberg, if you have disabled the stock ESCs BEC by removing the red wire, than yes, that is it. Just the jumper for the 6V position.

you should still set the ESC up, as there are a few settings you really should set.. watch finless bob's video on ESC set up, program it for 6V as you want 6V to go to the motor, cut the red wire & your done. i have the same BEC its a good choice i think..
