Just my 2 cents! But i have all 3 of the Scorpion motors and my favorit so far is the 1900KV on 5S with a 14tooth pinion this for me is the best combo of flight time and power! :smokin:
Super,
What's ur flight times like? How about the mah put back in your packs?

Anyone investigating an 8 cell setup with smaller packs? Just a thought.
One of my site contributors is looking at this setup and we may produce some info on it but as stated it is not a main stream solution and so has somehwhat limited appeal compared to the other motors / solutions in the 5S / 6S arena.
Maybe with time 8S may become a more popular setup but until then setting up a big 8S motor comparison is not something I'm looking at doing. Of course a minority of people will always go for HV setups but for most the stock 5S / 6S solutions can provide more than enough power for good 3D. I have a 10S 500 myself but I only did it to see what's possible rather than advocating it as a sensible option. It gives me a good sense of what is 'lots of power' versus 'not enough'.

Several of us have been running 8S from the beginning with great results.

Now thats funny! I talked with Scorpion recently and they said the only thing Aberdeen contributed to on any of thier designs was the need for a collar at the top of the motor! Co-designed? Not based on what they said....
Bob
Bob,
Who did you speak with at Scorpion?

i'm running 8s setup, it's myself who trextuning is refering to as having it.
my setup is medusa 38-50-1300v1,cc45hv,revolution 2100 4s cells. this setup is circa 420g and if anything it is too light as i have lost the balance again over all the other setups i've ran myself (2100, 2200, 2500, 3200, 3300, 4200 all of them 6s AND 3200, 3300, 4200 all of these 5s) the 8s however is VERY nimble and certainly is brilliant fun. but the heli flies more accurately (read that as it rolls axially with cg right) with the 5s 4200 revolution cells. the new medusa has proven to give excellent performance with this combo. i get 4 mins absolute max from my setup fyi.
cheers

Aberdeen supposedly co-designed the MJP carbon frames for the 500. Too bad they didnt fit right.

My bad, aberdeen. Thanks for the PM clarification. You provided the "functional specification" for just lowering of the battery tray, and not the whole entire frame set. And, you were not invoved in "design/technical specification" of the frames.
I went ahead and commented out my original response below.

Fitment problem acknowledged by MJP on right margin:

I believe you made a statement on Trextuning that the frames were made to your "spec." Since their site is down i can't get you the link right now.

Hey Bob,
When I asked the head honcho's from Align Headquarters, about your comment YOU MADE about;
"Align Admited that the Trex-500 (that they manufactured) has a STATIC Problem", :P, Do I need to post what they had to say about you? LOL :happyd
Bob, Please comment on this question;
Since they ADMITED to YOU, THEY HAD A STATIC PROBLEM with the TREX-500,
Why do they feel it's right, to pass this PROBLEM to the end users? :thumbdown:How about all these thousands of wasted dollars, Trex 500 static crash victims donated to ALIGNS STATIC PROBLEM?:wow2:
WOW!, I wished I can create a problem that made me millions of dollars!:cheers

Hehehehehe..... So someone else figured out chichiuno is Aberdeen....
Nice job ;)
Anyway... I really don't care what they said as I am sure it will be translated by you into whatever you wanted to hear. Childish comment dude and your personality is coming out again. I knew it would be a matter of time.... Do we need to go down this path again?

Finless Bob,
Yea right, you should talk about childish comments, and hearing what you wanna hear. Your the one who started with your typical BS.
About some collar on top of a motor, by asking some ficticous person from Scorpion.
Speak the truth and learn some ethics.

Telling the truth man... They called ME to send me motors for the Beam E4 build and a 1600KV to test on my 500. So I am not lying and those that know me know I dont lie. I have no reason to.
My comment was not childish either as I didn't go goating you trying to say "do you want me to tell you what they had to say" like it was super terrible or something. I simply repeated what they said when I asked if you had something to do with the design... That was the answer. Plain and simple.
Look.... I knew you were Aberdeen from day one. It was so obvious. But you maintained yourself so I didn't feel the need to do anything. But I can see your back with the attitude again. I am not going to do anything about it myself but keep it up and you will probably wind up going down the same path as your first handle.
Later... I myself am going flying with the OC crowd!

Decide on what? You lit the match, and gassed it. You made the first slanderous comment, gassing "bobby619" to make another slanderous post, with his confusement of what "spec'ed" and designed means, and now you got "Nyther" pointing fingures at me. like I am the culprit here.
I just here, enjoying reading the posts, and posting first hand information and opinions.
Why do you feel the need to Harrass me for?
drop it allready..

UPDATE: Thank you Bobby619 for correcting your posts regarding MJP.

We critique each other and learn by discussions. The way you post is very upfront and aggressive. You may not realize it, but when other people point it out don't take it as an attack just as a friendly comment. I don't want this to go back and forth between me and you. Sit back relax and discuss with the fellow Freaks on issues and offer suggestions and feedback. We are here as family to help and learn.
Thanks,
Ken

Why do you feel the need to Harass me for?
I didn't feel the need to harass you... But when you come over here and make "matter of fact" statements that either are debatable, discuss-able, etc, I feel myself or anyone else should be able to discuss or disagree without you going ballistic and start making unfriendly personal comments. This is what got you in trouble last time. People disagreed or debated with you and you went off with personal attacks.... I think you feel that if someone disagrees that they just insulted you... It's called an attack defend syndrome. Feel free to debate your point back with them but do it in a factual matter not in a personal attacking way...
Forums are here for exactly that kind of discussion. People make a suggestion, recommendation, etc and people discuss the topic nicely. People agree or disagree here all the time but don't go off and start making nasty comments.
Seriously I am hoping you get this idea as you do have a lot to offer here and I don't really want to see you banned again. Stay cool......

Aberdeen has harassed us for the last time. He does not respect the members of this site and has left an excellent paper trail in our logs, in threads and in email for us to do what needs to be done. If anyone sees him here again, please PM me directly immediately and I will take action. I am sure the companies he claims to represent will be interested as well as his ISP(s). As many of you know, we have bent over backward to let him stay on HF even though he has broken every rule and tried his best to diminish HF as a learning and helpful and most of all respectful environment. We have tried and tried and turned our heads when he signed up clone accounts to talk about himself in the second person and he just will not respect his peers here on HF. Enough is enough.
Thank you very much, we do our best to keep this site respectful and a place where we can all grow and learn this great hobby, and we appreciate your patience. I will do what needs to be done to ensure the harassment from Aberdeen (Anthony) stops now.

Geez I cant help but feel bad now, I mean I did start this post.
I dont know the full story but I guess wht has to be done is done.
Anyways back to the topic on hand, I flew my 500 the other day very briefly and was pretty impressed with the power of the stock motor. I will probably use this motor for a while before I decide on an upgrade.
Medusa is in front for me at the moment, however I am not too keen on modifying the motor mount for it to fit.
