I am new to electric heli's also fly a gasser. I have bought a TREX 450SE V2 and it has a 2100Mah 3S battery.

When I charge it what current do I set on my charger? It ranges from 0.1A up to 5A and I dont want to cook it.

Also how long do I get roughly on a basic flight? How do I know?

Sorry new to electrics as I said

2.1 amps is safe

I run 4:30 doing 3d on 3s batteries. Time your flights starting at 3 minutes and recharge and see what goes back in, you're looking to put back 80 percent of total capacity or 1680mah

YOu can safely charge any lipo at 1C, so multiply the capacity by 1 to get charge rate:
2100 x 1 = 2100 mAH or 2.1 amp.

Many batteries can be charged at 2C or even 3C. But their might be some lose of life on the pack. Most testeing seems to say it doesn't. I charge at aboug 1.4C, or abou 2.5 amps for a 2100 pack.

Best to fly YOUR heli for 3 minutes and see how much you put back in when charging. You don't want to drw out more than 80% of the capacity or 1680 mAH from your 2100 pack. If you are under that on charge, fly a bit longer, until you get to about 1680 on teh recharge.
