I would like to know the size of the space batteries (see photo).

If mounting counterbearing, the height is reduced as max?

Air Thunder 5000 pack won't fit under the counter bearing - the FP 3700 does and so apparently does the EVOLITE 5350

Can vouch for that, the evo lite 5350 clears the counter bearing, charging it now :YeaBaby:

Thanks for the answers;

Then, with CB the maximum height is ........

Thanks.

Mercuriell, are you talking about the 10s Air Thunder 5000mah pack on the Logo600? I'm curious if the 6s Air Thunder 5000mah pack will fit in the Logo500. Isn't the counterbearing only on the Logo600?

Vertical clearance under the pinion (no counterbearing) on my L500 is exactly 60mm with a bit of Velcro in the tray - I would want to allow at least 5mm clearance from the pinion (they're very good at drilling holes in lipos :arggg:) and the width between the frames is 50mm so I'd say 55mm H and 50mm W is the maxium dimensions for a lipo pack (eg the FP 4900 won't go). The AT 6S 5000 pack is 60 x 45 so I'd say it won't go unless you have no Velcro in the tray and are prepared to accept 2-3mm pinion clearance (you could always grind the pinion down a bit I suppose)

AT 5000 6S Pack Specifications:

FP 4350 EVO 25 6S Pack Specifications:

Capacity: 4350 mAh

Weight: 705g
FP 5000 EVO 25C 6S Long Pack Specifications:

Capacity: 5000mAh
Dimensions: 328Lx47Wx27mm
Weight: 770g

FP 5000 EVO 25C 6S Brick Pack Specifications:

Capacity: 5000mAh
Dimensions: 166Lx54Wx34mm
Weight: 799g

TP 5000 v2 eXtreme 6S Pack Specifications:

Capacity: 5000 mAh
Dimensions: 160Lx50Wx45Hmm
Weight: 740gNB The FP Long 6S pack fits great the newer shorter Brick pack (ideal for TREX600) doesn't.

So the EVO Lites and the AT fit but are real tight for vertical clearance. So on my L500 I use the TP 5000 - older FP 5000 - FP 3750 and 4350 and get slightly better performance at the expense of duration with the lighter packs.

Thanks for the great info, Mercuriell!

If the pinion is that close to the packs I may put a thin sheet of spruce, carbon fiber, plastic, something on top of the lipo to prevent a puncture in case I crash.

Since you fly both FP and TP 5000 packs, care to give me some insight as to which is better? I've never flown FP, I have all TP stuff now. The TP 5000's are 70g lighter and $10 cheaper than the FP. Do the FP perform better or have a longer life?

I can't see any difference in performance or durability between the FP and TP 5000 packs so go for whichever is lighter and cheaper - the EVO LITEs are lighter but pretty expensive and hard to find

EspritModel has Evo Lites for $300 in stock. If I go that route I'll only have a couple mm of clearance though. I just found some Evo 20C 4900 stick packs for $210. Any reason I shouldn't use those. The max amperage should be sufficient for my Logo500. Will the CG balance ok with those stick packs?

The EVO20 4900 will not fit - too tall.

Here is a picture of my Logo 5003D with the EVOLite 6S 5350 - no counterbearing though.

I have a maxamps 6000 (6s2p) battery which fits in the Logo 500 3d with no counterbearing. However, the heli is slightly nose heavy with it, even with the battery inserted in as far as possible (too tall to pass under the motor pinion). However about a 1/2 ounce of weight added to the tail would balance it out. This battery just barely fits in the mainframe and really isn't a good match for the Logo. Although the 6000 is nice for long flight times, so if you can live with the balance issues, it's a good battery.

I decided not to use the maxamps 6000 because of the balance issue and instead use the TP 5000 v2 extreme, which adjusts for perfect balance. However, it does not allow for use of the counterbearing either.

Thanks for the great picture Bruce!

The Evo20 4900mah packs I found are the stick packs, not the brick packs. They are 30x45x265. My main question is if the stick packs will balance ok. I think they will because they should just slide under the main gear, but I was hoping someone could verify.

I use the FP 5000 stick pack which are 27 x 47 x 328 and it balances fine so I'm sure the 4900 would be fine also

Can some one please tell me what the counter bearing does/is?

Oooh, I think I can actually help someone in the Mikado forum! My research is paying off.

The counter-bearing is an improvement for the Logo600 that acts as a reinforcement for the motor shaft to keep it from flexing or breaking due to the high stresses caused by very powerful motors. The general consensus is that it isn't needed on the 500.

I think I got it right, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone know if the Outrage packs fit in the Logo500? I am looking at buying a 500 but if this particular pack doesn't fit I will get the 600 instead as the flightpwers are quite expensive in OZ and so far in my Trex500 my Outrgage packs have got a lot more grunt and stay cooler.

Hi, they will fit but may hit the top of the pinion so the CG could be a little off (same as FP 4900MAH i think).

I use polyquest brick packs and they were only $350 each 6S 5000MAH 25C, they clear the pinion.
I was going to get the outrage but stuck with the polyquest for the above reason.
Also polyquest use enerland cells same as FP etc so they are quality packs.
