View Full Version : Control from Sim or from Radio?

First time RC sim user. I connected a "virgin" (out of the box, no models) x9303 to Phoenix, selected X3810 (25% expo) as the controller, tweaked some curves and had some good flights. Well, I did crash a lot but did accomplish a good hover at one point.

Later in the day, I spent some time familiarizing myself with the X9303 programming by going throught the manual and partially setting up a model for Trex 450. I don't have any servos calibrated yet so I was just getting the feel of things.

The next session with Phoenix resulted in all of the conrols being way off what they were before. My question is: do the radio settings control what happens in Phoenix, or do the Phoenix settings control? I connected to Phoenix using the supplied JR cable plugged into the DSC port with the radio off and then opening Phoenix. I did manage to get control back by setting the swash settings in the X9303 back to "normal 1 servo" rather than the expected 3 servo 120 degrees.

I expect I have missed something something - any suggestions.

You need to set the swash to the "normal 1 servo" mode. which puts the radio in PPM mode. Everything else is the same.

Thanks Zagiman, I guess my muddling did get it right after all. I thought that the x9303 did not have the PPM mode but was toggled to the correct configuration when the cable was inserted while OFF.

Nothing gets change when you plug the cable in. The only difference is that the tx doesn't actually transmit (I believe this is true for your tx but, I own a DX7). This will make the battery last longer. There are a lot of people that make a copy of the model setup to another slot on their tx and only change the swash type.
