Trying to learn fast hurricanes, with reversal into a inside-outside fig 8 hurricane. Now the move is hard enough! Fighting to keep the tail from blowing out is hindering me from programming my fingers. Is there any way to lock the gyro in? My 401 doesn't blow out on me as bad as the default 600N settings. I tried messing with the gain, but no luck. Turned off Revo mixing, which was on by default, LOL!
Any suggestions?

Increase the "tail power" slider on the fine tuning tab.

Decrease the tail fin surface area by half to say .045. That will solve your problem.

I'll try those suggestions, thanks!

Could this be the problem I am having? I just posted on usenet..
I am learning (try to) funnels, with the Trex 450 3D, and it was looking fine yesterday up until later on, now I am finding that the heli keeps losing its tail. What happens is that I am moving sideways very fast, and then all of a sudden the heli flicks around 90 degrees to the left so that it's facing the way it's moving, i.e. it's in forward flight instead of sideways.
I was thinking my TX was broken, or the phoenix interface lead..

sounds like it. Try the tail power trick above. Worked for me great!

I'll give it a go. Thanks :)

So turning the fin surface area down didnt work?

So turning the fin surface area down didnt work?
Well, I assumed the fin surface area was generated from the model, so I didn't want to compromise tail authority. So I just started with the tail power trick. That worked so well I didn't have a need to alter the fin surface....
I will admit, I have had NO blowouts since which is just as unrealistic (I do have a 401, ya know). BUT now I have the manuver down and will likely put it back to a more realistic value. to deal with blowouts when/if they happen.
(Hmmm better do that with the motor, too.. I set the HP to 3... hehe...)

It wont effect authority at all. Most fins these days are made with as little surface area as possible. Pretty much just there to keep the blades out of the dirt. I found turning the tail power up made it unrealistic in other areas. Ive been flying this sim for about two years now and have ran the gauntlet with pretty much all the variables. Try it , see if you like it. Let me know.
