what do you heat it up to to make them loosen?

either heat the grip in the area that the bearing is in with a small torch (butane torch like you can get a radio shack)... OR toss the grip in the oven for 30 minutes... but keep in mind that you'll have to heat it back up to get the bearing back in.. and doing that will cook the grease right back out of the bearing...

I don't think a soldering gun will give you enough heat around the entire grip.
I put mine in the oven at about 250 for 30 minutes...and when I picked it up the bearings just fell out.
As mentioned....you'll have to heat again to get them back in....
make sure you look at the IPC to see which way they go in....there is a certain order..
page 14 in the newer manual has the order...

Heat is Heat....I would use the toaster oven if you don;t mind it being on for 1/2 hr and its got a temp setting..

ok ill try that out... so once i get the bearings out and greese the thrust bearings could i heat the grips for only like 15min and slid the bearings back in that way the greese doesn't melt?

Try it, but I think you will find there is a lot of heat stored in the grips...maybe freeze the bearings.....stick them in and stick the whole grip in the freezer to cool it down quicker...
The grease didn't run out of the grips, so i will assume it is still in there...somewhere !

yea i tried everything... it looks like the washer in there wasn't cut right because when i moved it there seems to be some crap metal on the inside which is blocking the spindle from going through... do you know where the video is?

try 350 for at least a 1/2 hour maybe more....
Mine just fell out when holding it upside down.....
You just needmore heat for a longer time....leave in for and hour if you have to...

ok i wont be home til monday so once i get home ill try 350 at half a hour, i got the bearing that goes up against the yoke but the other wouldn't budge... i got the washer inside there to move around and it looks like when they cut the washer the inside still had leftover metal in there because the small piece in there is all messed up and is just a little, but its enough to stop the spindle

Your probably right I think I only used 250....the less heat the better
But for what reason...?

the whole point it to be able to service the grips.

You cook the grease with that much heat. How did you get it back in? I'm searching for an alternative blade grip... mikado ones would be cool but they use a much wider diameter :(
