I ordered the Kong Power 3s1p 11.1v 2200mAh 25C Lipo Battery / Charger Combo (http://www.readyheli.com/Kong_Power_3s1p_11_1v_2200mAh_25C_Lipo_Battery_C_p/kp-2225-3charger.htm) from ReadyHeli and it just arrived I was wondering what do I plug the charger's plug into? :)

Sorry if it's a lame question but I'm just starting out in the the RC heli field...

The DN charger is a 12v DC charger. You can connect the charger to a 12v car battery ( red to positive , black to negative), or you can order a 12v power supply like this one :

Thanks. After some digging around I discovered that I can use a computer power supply as the power supply for my charger. Am I right?

yup, you can but i believe you need to modify the computer power supply to get it to work.
you plug the packs into the 3 cell port on the front of the charger. idk if readyheli is including a TP adaptor with that combo or not, mine didn't come with one but readyheli does stock them.

What exactly do I need to modify?

There were some adapters included. However I haven't tried them on since I had no means of supplying the charger with 12V. I'll report back, once I figured it out. Thanks for your responses.

I know I've seen it around here somewhere on what to do with the computer power supply. Try a search to see if you can find it. I think you just have to find or create a spot to get +12v out. Shouldn't be too hard but 12v power supplies aren't too expensive and are probably safer to use. But if you have an old computer supply laying around and you like to tinker, then I don't see why not (I'm often the same way).

Alternatively, you can power the charger with your car battery or buy a 12v gel cell battery like used in field boxes. You just have to know when to recharge the supply battery.

According to ReadyHeli's listing for that combo, you should have received two packs, the charger, and a TP to DN adapter. If you can't find it, give them a call and they'll fix you up I'm sure.

For only $150, that seems like quite the deal. Two Flight Power packs like that alone would cost you the same thing.

Thanks for the advice. By typing the right search terms (inspired by the last post) I found a really helpful thread here: http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=67288 - the three links are gold. Now I have some reading material... :)

Consider the issue solved.

Not being a native English speaker sometimes the search terms don't "click" right from the begining. After some hints however... :)
