Hello guys,

Check it out. I just finished upgrading my Razor to 12S :D. It has an Actro24-4, PJ (I know.... talk about overkill) and a set of 6S 3300 Extreme V2's. Did a mild/smooth test flight yesterday to make sure nothing was cooking. The PJ was at ambient when it landed.. LOL! Still need to dial in a few things and figure out my flight times. At least I know everything is working properly and that the power was definitely there. Will continue to fly it throughout this week and report back on performance.

I know there are some other people flying 12S Razors. Would be nice if you shared what works for you. Videos too :).

Hello Shamen, I have 4 flights on it so far and I'm putting back a little over 2000mAh after 4min 10sec at 2100rpms unloaded. The TP Extreme 3300 V2 packs are holding real strong at only only 3.44v/cell drop and 100deg F.

Right now the machine has more power than I can effectively use. It's pretty amazing how it refuses to bog down! It just pulls hard through the moves. Will have to continue practicing to make the most of it. It was funny because there was a Nitro guy yesterday talking about how his Raptor50 was way underpowered after watching the 12S Razor fly :D. I was going to take it up to 2200rpms, but so far I don't feel the need since it's lively enough for me as it is.

Paul man, the 12S Razor rocks! I can't wait to hear how you like it. The tail could hold better, but than again I'm using a GY-502. I'll look into upgrading to a 611.

Hey Paul, yeah that's a PowerJazz.. pretty massive ESC. The thing barely goes above ambient. The Gyro is an older GY-502, it's holding much better now that I tightened up the belt some more. I am looking to order a proper GY-611 next month sometime.

Can't wait to hear how you like the 12S setup! Hope you get some footage too when it's dialed in :D. Man you got the powerful 32-3 in there, should be even crazier. What capacity are the 12S packs you are using?

I am going to try getting mine on video this weekend if it all works out. The heli feels awesome in the air with the 12S setup, it has moved right up to my favorite machine (right next to the Ion). Here's my full setup:

Motor: Actro 24-4
ESC: Kontronik PowerJazz
Batteries: 12S 3300 Extreme V2 - ThunderPower
Tx/Rx: Spektrum DX7 with AR7000 Rx
Servos: Futaba S9252 on 4-cell High Discharge NiMH Rx pack (planning on going LiPo/reg soon)
Gyro: Futaba GY-502
Blades: VBlades 620mm TST main and 95mm tail
Paddles: Stock white MA
Flight time: 4min 10sec so far puts around 2000mah. 4.5 min should be no problem with plenty of reserve.

Managed to get it on video yesterday:

The machine flies strong and handles well in the air at 2160rpm (unloaded). May try higher headspeeds later on.

Great flying mate. Looks like you've got a new favorite MA heli!

Cheers,

Hey thanks Tom! Yeah the heli sure is a blast, especially now on 12S. I'm taking it up for another flight today :). It has turned into a close match between the Ion and Razor... hehe. Not sure which one I like best right now... they both rock in the air.

Looking good Paul :D, how do you like the extra power? Big difference?

Man I've been too busy this week to do anything with mine. I just received the wide bottom plate and stiffeners from MA. So the big packs should be going in soon for some test flights.

You going to Huntsville?

Chachin

Couldn't make it to Huntsville. Had to work overtime today :(. A Razor flight made it better though. Tomorrow I'm making the Ion airworthy again with an Actro32-3, 8mm shaft (thanks Clarence!).

Hope you guys are having a blast!! Can't wait to see some Helifreak vids :D.

Thanks for the info Paul, man that would have been sweet! Well the Ion was down anyways, and I am nothing without it... hehe. I'll contact them for the next big heli event, it sure would be fun if we can work something out.

what motor, pinion and batteries are you guys using,
I am thinking of using my 6S Evolite's - but not sure if they will fit,
are you using a larger base plate and wider for batteries and is their a part number from MA?

Buster,

I am using twi Falcon Batteries 3700mAh 20C 6s ( www.falconbatteries.com )
I am not sure of the pinon size. But I will count them and let you know.
and yes Chachin and I are using the wider base plate. I dont believe they have a part number but just call them at 1-352-383-3201 and tell them what you want and Jeff will cut it and send it to you!

Paul, what motor and pinion are you using?
Can the CCHV85 handle 12S???
I need to check whether my 5350 Evolite - 6S are too big for the base plate,
Thanks - how is your heli. flying on 12S??
Have you made any other modifications to the airframe, drive system to handle 12s?
Thanks,
Jeff
