 This thread is for Blade CX/2 ONLY. Alot of Blade CX/2 Flyers found it hard to find out about just the cx so we desided to start a thread just for the Blade CX/2 ONLY. Have fun. If we can't get our own section, we CAN have our own Social Group. And here it is: CX/2 Social Group (http://www.helifreak.com/group.php?groupid=66).
Come on over and let's talk about our favorite little toy.

Netdragon thanks for the new area. It will certainly help with those of us who like those 'simple' little machines. Haven't quite figured out the "social group" yet. New to the forum and new to helis. It all started with a birthday gift of two air hogs. Doggone!

I bought my CX2 on Saturday early afternoon, crashed it on Saturday mid afternoon, waited till Tuesday to get new blades and it had a bad set of motors already.
I had not more than 15 minutes of very shaky hover time prior to the crash and after the crash it couldn't get more than a foot off the ground. Weak motors!!
I took it to the LHS and they replaced motors and installed an Exxtreme core kit with new foldable blades and off it took. The guy tweaked it so it hovers without the use of the sticks, at all!! It's awesome now, even I can fly it!
Will Eflite warranty the motors for me?

Hey guys, new to the forum, CX2s but somewhat experienced in heli's and misc. electric flight.
Bought a Twister Medevac on a whim and upgraded to the CX/2 in fairly short order, mostly for the 2.4GHz and the ease of adding new body shells. Looking for a decent KA-50 shell at the moment. I'm using my medevac to introduce my friend to heli's, it's somewhat battle scarred but it's trimmed so well a monkey could fly it now. Grounded for the moment, until I can get down to the LHS and get more blades.
I do have a couple of questions for the more seasoned CX'ers amongst you;
I'm considering adding a cheap heading lock gyro to my CX/2, is there any tried and tested on the CX platform yet? I know it's considered somewhat a faux pas to put heading lock on a little RTF like this but I figure when I move up to something bigger I can always take the 6100 RX and the gyro with me.
Which Alu parts are actually worth getting?

This site is really nice. Thanks for dedicating one to CX2. Anyway to put it as a Subforum on the Eflite Menu like the Blade 400?

That takes a Mod/Admin to do that. Has anyone asked one to do that?

Yep! From my experience it is. Have learned from LHS and forum(s) that there are tiny numbers stamped on the plastic blades near the ball link. It was suggested that if the numbers are the same they are close enough for the CX2. Not true in my brief experience. I put the two blades together as if they were goint to be mounted on one of the shafts and lay the center of the ball links on a razor blade. Sometimes they are right on and other times they are way off. Put a piece of cellophane tape on the underneath side of the light blade until they balance. Make sure the razor blade edge is as much in the center of the ball link as you can. A few hundredths off center will give you a faulty balance point.:thinking

Sounds like a good idea addicted. Any chance you have or can DO some pictures? I can't get my mind around how you're able to balance them. Of course I'm a major "Newbie" here!!
Thanks in advance :)

To balance the blades, get a full set, either uppers or lowers, and put them together as if there was a mast to hook them to. Only, there isn't anything you should hook them to except each other. At this point they are not on the heli they are just held to each other with the little plastic indentations. You could both the screws in to hold them but I have found it not necessary They'll stay together fine for balancing. Move them around too much and they will separate. Put a razor blade right in the middle of the ball links and make like a teeter-totter. I am do new here I don't do pictures yet. Another thing I'll have to learn. Cheers!:)

:arggg: Got the heli back together and went out into the shop to fly it. First battery, with a few trims, flew hands off. Battery got tired so I put another one in. Lifted off and the thing dove to the right. Tried it again and it dove to the left. All I did was change the battery. I then took the canopy off and ran it up while holding on to the Skids. The aileron servo was jumping and twitching all over the place. Can't get it to stop when the heli's powered up. On the bench, I started moving the cyclic really fast forward and backward. and watched the servo move. Normal movement and normal sound. Then I moved the cyclic Left and Right, aileron, really fast and there is a bad sound coming out of that servo. Sounds like a squeeky bed spring. The squeek timing corresponds with the rate of the cyclic movement.
This little bird is getting to be an expensive pain in the rear. Maybe when I flew it out of range and it fell to ground and I fried a motor or did something to the 3/1 that was pilot error. However, changing a battery should not cause the servo to fail. Another $13. Maybe I got the lemon and hope others aren't as frustrated. I need to hire a full-time heli mechanic to keep it airworthy.

Looks like I gotta take the CX2 apart to get in there, but did that and it's not hard. Not even sure about changing the paint job cuz it looks kinda nice.

You can buy the folding blades from www.bladecx2.com (http://www.bladecx2.com) I bought the core kit step one. It comes with a longer inner shaft better bearing and holder at the top, new indestructible lower gear and the blade grips that pivot when you hit something. It's
I just ordered the race kit with new tail boom, battery tray and some extra blades just in case, since my LHS don't carry the Exxtreme parts. I'm looking forward to the new boom so I can go outside with it.

See my reply to Xtreme blades cx2. My favorite way to balance cx2 blades was just to snip a tiny sliver of plastic with scissors off the heavy blade till it balanced following the original contour of the tip of the blade.

It's toooooo heavy, I get maybe 1 1/2 minutes of flying and then it's full power just to stay 1 foot off the ground. It is nice looking though but I don't think I'll continue to use it.
