50t first gear

i just ordered a 50t first gear to replace my 42t ok gear from readyheli and noticed that the 50t does not have the ok stamp on it? is this gear the updated gear as far as strenghth goes of should i just stick with one that only has the ok stamp on it? this 50t front has a gaui part # of 204621.

i had the 50t gear on mine paired with the 16t pinon and it worked fine but im switching to the 42t and 15t pinon for higher headspeeds

did your 50t have the ok stamp on it. just want to make sure it will hold up to my z30 motor.

im not sure... i never looked but it has been used with the rcp 1100kv motor... my suggestion would be setup st1 at like 85 then use st2 at 95 or 100 that way its easier on the gears to flip into stunt mode...

Mine did not have a stamp on it, as I tried to lower headspeed, didnt have any problems running them. I too switched back to 14t pinion 42front and 61 main gears, I am happy with this setting.

i just want to use the 50t as this will let me just change the pinion and get a better range of hs. i would like to run around 2000 hs and if i use the 50t front gear with a 14t pinion with the z30 1100kv that gives me around 2000-2100hs. this way if i want to bring the hs down for better flight time i still have the 13t pinion to go to.
stupid question, does it matter how you get your gear ratio?? meaning getting the same hs either using the 50t or 42t front main gear and using a 14t or 13t pinion as the gear ratio would then be close?? not sure if that makes sense.LOL, in other words does the motor and battery have to work harder one way or the other? or will it be the same as the ratios and hs are almost the same.

The 50T I have does not have the "OK" stamp on it either. I think you will find that they are uprated gears as they came out after the OK gears.

Normally the closer the two gears are in diameter the more efficient the transfer of power is. This is due to various factors of which the most important one is that there is less gearteeth "wipe" the closer the diameters are. So for us mere mortals yes the 50t with a bigger pinion will be slightly more efficient, but will we notice it? I don't think so:)

thanks for all the help. im going try the 50t with a 14t pinion and ill see if i can tell a difrence in a timed flight and see how much mah i put back into my packs.

I've used 50t on my 10S setup and they seem fine.

I have a 13T on 50T running 8s ( Z20-980kv ) and the HS is fast with TC 80% flat ! Very nice for 3D . Have to reduce throttle to 75% - maybe 70% flat on stunt mode as I m chasing for longer flight time.

I use a 13t but I have a z30 800Kv motor.... It also helps that I am using a Kontronik Jazz ESC which copes pretty well with lower throttle settings. If I recall I was running 70 - 72% (Governor) for a 2100 - 2200 HS. I am back with a RevCo gear right now (long story) but will swap to the 50t again as part of a rebuild.
