Hi, Im still a newbie in the most expensive hobby, but it is like a addiction, you can not stop until you have trouble with the wife. My confusion is that I have bought a Sceadu Shuttle (0403-916) with a 50 OS Hyper engine (Non Evo), but when I read through all the posts and questions it appears that there is very little difference between the two versions, will it make a difference if I setup my Sceadu the same way as the Evo, as I have only start to hoover with training gear and found that even through reading the manual over and over again, there is a lot of adjustments still to be done and nothing is mentioned in the manual and when reading through the postings I see a lot of things that can be done to tweak your machine for peak performance and less vibrations and sadly it was mostly for the Evo, not much for the Sceadu?

You are a beginner with rc helicopter so try to learn and read every bits and pieces about the subject and stay with what you bought whatever people might say. Read forums and I am sure you will find answer to each of you question one at a time unless you are full of cash and want to spend a little fortune on each model.

Each model can be flown but sometime differently than the others.

The original Sceadu will be fine for learning to hover and getting into forward flight

The original Sceadu suffered from blade woofing,
the blades would go out of track during 3D moves

All the tips you see for the Evo apply to the original Sceadu,
except for head specific stuff - as it's the head that was most significantly changed
There are other small detail changes, but they are not very important, just nice

Thanks for the feedback and through this forum I have stumbled across RunRyders forum, and there is a lot of information with regards problems and expieriences the guy's had, still working on that massive heap of information, training is the big word and patience will pay off, have a nice day

Mine started life as a non-Evo frame (softer plastic, no upper canopy supports in the front) with an Evo FZ IV head and all push pull linkage.

Problems I had so far were the stock pitch arm breaking, causing a crash and weak main gear now upgraded to the EX stuff.

Lots of people fly the older version at our club with no problems. Only when you start stressing it will you need to upgrade.

As far as I know the only differences between the original Sceadu and the Sceadu Evo are the stiffer (yet more brittle) frame, push - pull HPM linkage arms and the FZ IV (vs III) head that has a longer seesaw and probably different mixing ratios. They use the same yoke, blade grips and other parts. Also, the fuel tank may be slightly bigger (or my first one was for a .30 kit...).

All Evo parts should fit to your heli, so upgrade when you need to replace and don't bother wasting your money now while still learning the basics.

After 4 tanks of fuel my heli start to vibrate feverishly and I decided to call it a day, back at home I started to check everything again, with the help of the manual and the only real surprise was the tail rotor assembly that the tail pulley (Factory assembled) was actually grinding the bearing block below it causing the vibrations, remove it and take it to the hobby shop and replaced it with a new one and check the rest of the heli over, flew it last Sunday and perfect, no vibrations rock steady at 1 M hoover. Did somebody else had the same problem?
