I purchased the RC Accessory Dual Balance Board the BC-6 charger. Anyone have any pics of their setup? I can't seem to figure this thing out!

Also, if you have any charge tips, they are appreciated.

In the two-3s setup, the top battery is battery one? My balance board says the bottom 3s cell is # one.

How are the lipos connected together? It seems to me that pos is connected to neg in some way.I thought they were connected by the board only.

:arggg: Sorry, I'm still confused.

i've got this same board, but i've not used it yet after hearing horror stories of shorts and fried lipos. i'm sure anyone who's smoked their lipos using this, it was user error and not inferior product but i'd like to see nice closeup pic of two 3s1p packs connected to the board and the board connected to the charger. the directions say to hook up the big harness reversed from how i've been using it. maybe it's typo, or maybe i'm reading it wrong but still i don't want to fry $200 in lipos from a stupid mistake.

oh, you'll need to use a deans (or whatever connector you use) series harness to make the 2 3s1p packs 1 6s1p pack in order to charge them as 6 cell.

Sure, but do you use both pos and neg to both batts? Or, do you connect just the neg to batt one and pos to batt two? The diagram shows the pos on batt two connecting to the neg of batt 1. I'm not sure how to do that.

Please, someone post a pic of the proper setup!

Thx

The pdf is clear, I'm not sure I can explain it better. Also the directions that come with the EAC14x boards does a good explanation.

If you are not sure, then use some test leads with a 5 amp inline fuse on the series Deans (between the batteries) for your first connection.

so in a nutshell, you just use a series connector for the main leads and plug each pack's balance connector into the balance board. the directions seem to say that you need to plug the big multi-colored harness (that goes from balance board to the charger port, it's not pictured) into the charger with the black lead towards the rear of the charger? i've been plugging this multicolored lead in with the black wire towards the front of the charger with no problems. do i have this backwards?

Yes, you have to plug the balancing board into the balancer ;) ,- it does not matter which way the black wire faces, the plugs are just connected wire to wire from top to bottom, so its the same connection either way.

obviously you have to plug the balance board into the charger. i'm not that stupid lol. pretty close though. what i don't get is that, you're saying that it doesn't matter which way you plug the balance harness into the charger? it can go one way or the other, doesn't matter if the black wires face front or back? i'm not too sure i buy that, no offense to you. can rcassesory comment on that?

Just follow the wires to confirm for yourself that they make the same connections with either the black on top or bottom.

The multi colored wire that connects the adapter board to the balance port on the charger is a straight through wire, so it can be connected either way.

What is important is that the negatives of the balance taps are aligned with the negatives on the serial cable that connects the 2 batteries together.

If you imagine that the wires furthest away from you are North and the wires at the bottom or closer to you are South, that may help.

When you use the Deans serial cable, the negative on the serial cable connects to the negative on battey one, battery one positive connects to battery 2 negative, battery 2 positive connects to the serial cable positive.

The polarities must be correct between the balance taps as well as the batteries to the serial deans cable/charge cable.

ok, that makes sense now. last question. what is the fuse for in the picture. it's not wired to anything. is there a reason for it?

If you put the fuse (5A - 7.5A) in the circuit where I have circled in red, you will avoid melting your battery wires if connected improperly. Otherwise, each time you will need to double, triple check your wiring before plugging in that last connection or risk a fire - its cheap insurance.

Where did you get the FP Balancing connector extension? Do you know what the FP balancing connectors are called?

So if the multi-balancer somehow got fried (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=76598&page=2) and I saw a little smoke come from the BC6 as well, does that mean it's toast as well? Not quite sure how it happened as I followed the instructions. I checked the batteries on another charger and they're fine (phew) but I would really hate to have just spent $170 to see it down the tubes!!

The connector on b23s is the one clearly fried.

PLEASE HELP!!

You need to run the charger to see if it was damaged.

You can use sockets B1 to charge 1 pack.

First off it it lets you start the charge, that would be the first sign it is working.

Press the INC button to see the cell voltages.
