As long as your starter handles the voltage, they would be ideal.

That will work fine. It isn't going to have the grunt @ 12 volts that the 2 8.4 volt packs have, and it isn't going to be as portable. That is the type of battery I use in my flight box to run a power panel and as back up if my portable setup runs down. I have actually never needed it for backup since going to the portable setup but you never know.
