Running in for first 2-3 tanks I'd run head at around 95 °C - that's around 1 1/4 turns out for me - for every day running Head around 110°C works fine for me - that only takes a 2-3 clicks on the needle to lean up.

To break in the engine about 1 1/2 turns anticlockwise - leave the idle mixture scew alone unless the engine stalls on throttle up im which case turn it a tiny bit clockwise to lean up the idle mixture. A temp of 110C shouldn't destroy an engine but it is a little high - mine got up to 165C last flight due to a lean mixture from the carb coming loose!

It's interesting that a lot of people get the turns out incorrect. I had to read carefully about that in the OS manual and here too. When you say 1.5 turns you are meaning 1.5 turns past the baseline setting of 1.5 turns for a total of 3 turns from fully closed, at least that's how I read into it. I broke in that way just fine and my temps. were in order by touch. I did not use my temp. gauge.

now that is interesting, glad u posted that because I was under the impresion that it was 1.5 from full closed position, that could be expensive lesson for someone.

I found 2 turns from the fully lean position to be plenty rich for break-in. Put it this way: I had plenty of smoke and fuel was dripping out the muffler tube.

thats about what I used for breakin . after breakin and before I put carbsmart on I was 1 turn plus 5 clicks out from fully closed with a head temp. of about 210 f with a infrared thermometer... thats running 30% coolpower and the align pipe:)

2 turns is plenty, the thing will barely run at 3 turns even with 30 percent. Lower nitro you can probably start a little leaner but 2 turns out is a good starting point.
