View Full Version : Blade CX/CX2 time between flights . . .

I have my Cx and CX2 I am learning to fly on. I am fortunate to have some large open WINDLESS warehouses to fly in during the day (lunch break etc). I'm concerned if it's BAD to fly back to back batteries. 2 batteries will just about carry me through my 30 +/- minute lunch break.

Does anyone "cool down" between batteries? If so, how long?

The motors probably could use a cool down between packs. I would get as many packs in as I could if I had an open wind-less warehouse to fly in. CX2 motors are cheap to replace anyway.

That's what I like to hear!! I have 3 chargers adn 5 packs so there's no reason I should EVER be without batteries here to fly. I think I'll just LEAVE one of the chargers here in my office for "Day Charging" :)

Thanks for the input :)

Drill holes into the canopy and buy the cooling fins for the two motors. Before crashing mine by flying in the wind, I'd her trimmed using the DX7, balanced the blades and then balanced the heli with the battery installed and she would hovered in one spot, hands off, for a few minutes at a time before the battery slowly drained.

I have 2 chargers and 3 batts and run it pretty hard sometimes. Got the heat sink for the engine and it seems to hold up. Although I've seen someone run 2 batts in a row and melt the canopy.

I've run 4 batteries thru my CX and its holding up fine. I like to let it cool down for just a few minutes (4-5) after running 2 batteries thru it, though.

This one came with holes in the canopy and holes in the actually receiver cover as well. It's already got heat sinks installed which must help some :)

Thanks every one :)
