View Full Version : T-Rex 500 SE
With the availability of the metal components or as some call "bling" when will Align release a 500 "SE" model. It seems like natural progression to the next release for this model.
From some of the talk here maybe they have "Aligned" all their resources for the upcoming T-Rex 700 release

I have purchased all of the available upgrades to the head unit, tail, etc.. that have been available and love them. This is my first T-Rex and I must say that the craftsmanship is wonderful and I love your product. Align is cool in my book. :-)

Many people said when the 600 came out "I will wait for the 600 SE". Well as you see that never happened... I don't think there will be a 500 SE for a long time if ever... Just my opinion.

Does anyone besides me find it odd that when you put a Bounce sheet in the dryer it stops static hits, but when you have a static hit in your heli it usually Bounces? :-)

The 600N Super Pro is an SE, but the 600E is not available as an SE

Not sure I would call the pro and SE. Yes it has all the latest upgrades but it also comes bundled with motor, governor, etc... So it's really more of a bundle heli than what I would call an SE.
When Align made the first SE (450) it was a HUGE difference over the XL they were selling. XL was all plastic but they had metal hop up parts for it. SE was a complete redesign of the frames into CF and what not with direct servo to swash control, etc.
Also many changes that come out as upgrades get rolled into the kits anyway. For instance the XL motor that was an upgrade became standard, other items as well (too many to remember but the list is pretty large).
If they did come out with a "renamed" kit they would probably call it the pro version. But as Andy said... would probably be a year away IF that were to happen.

I think SE's are on the horizon for every Align Heli, but as people of said, they're probably a ways out.
The reason I say this is, what's next after the 700? Maybe a new 450?
Align will have their Helicopter model range covered from the 450 to the 700. They're not going to sit on their hands and relax after the 700. They'll may make more upgrades for all their Heli's, but eventually they'll come out with new versions (ie. SE's or Pro).

any idea how soon? I am ready to purchase the 500 but I really want to go flybarless with it.
I am still looking to the different electronic systems for this application. Getting to be more and more choices.
What I don't have a clue about is can I take a standard head and remove the flybar or do I need to purchase a different head all together.
