Hello guys.... I have a raptor 30 v2, OS32 SX. I haven't flown a lot my raptor (but I am pretty good with the t-rex 450) and I crashed last time, pilot's error. I was flying circuits and it seems I lost some RPM while turning and decreasing throttle in order to contrerest the lift of the heli while turning, here is the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhITRtaUGtY
pitch: -2.5, -2.5, 0, 6, 9, hover at 60% throttle stick which corresponds to 54% in the throttle curve.
my throttle curve: 18%, 23%, 38%, 64, 100.
I set up IDLE 1,2 the same way just because I don't want to do any kind of 3d with the raptor. Somebody in this forum recommended me to set IDLE 1 with points 1,2 and 3 with higher throttle % in order to keep constant RPM in sport flying (circuits and 8's), I guess that will help me. Is it gonna be useful for me???? I was thinking about setting IDLE 1 as follow:
40%, 42.5%, 45%, 64%, 100%, If I switch of IDLE while hovering, the transition will be smooth, hover point the same (60%)...... is that ok???? or I should increase the first 3 points to let's say 45, 47.5, 50???
Thanks a lot guys.......

Hello, well, there are so many reasons that could be causing that your engine doesn't start, I recomend you to start a new thread about it or to go to http://www.raptortechnique.com/ where you will find all the info you need, go to "how to mechanich" --- "tuning the engine" part and follow the instructions, there is so much information to read when you are a newbie, it's so much information, I didn't want to read it all, but believe me, at the end, I had to, so, I recomend you to do the same.......
I have a OS32 SX engine, I opened 2.5 turns counter clockwise the main needle and 3 turns counter-clockwise the little needle. it should start with it, but if your engine is new, DON'T touch the little needle because it usually comes open properly from manufacturer, just play around with the main needle. Check out your glow plug, I recomend you to use a OS 8 and buy some of them because they are damage from manufacturer once in a while, also check out that your glow plug driver is giving a good shot of current.... as I said before, so many things man, go check the site, it's interesting and it will save you LOTS of time.

Your pitch should be -4 to what ever you can get. -4 because if it is windy and you don't have enough negative, you will not be able to land till you run out of fuel and -4 is a good starting point for beginers (from what I've read). Also if you have to auto, you need atleast -4 to keep the head speed up.
Your only getting +9? you should be able to get atleast 12.
Because you said you dont want to make your other flight modes different I wont get into how the others should be set.
As far as throttle curve, no one can tell you what numbers to set it at. It depends on your linkage geometry, transmitter, blades etc etc. What you need to do is fly it, is the engine screaming? drop the coresponding point a bit. If you can, have someone who has flown for a wile look at the heli, they would be able to tell you just from listening if the head speed is to high / low. Go to a fly in, there is alot of help there and you have the equipment with you for some one to look over.

hello, thanks for answering, I read in several forums that -2.5 was a good starting point for beginners, but I think that it should be for beginners, beginners, I am beginner but I fly my t-rex with -11,+11 and flat throttle curve 100%.
I haven't flown a lot the raptor and I am not used to the change in RPM of a nitro heli, I am used to the inmediat response of a electric motor. I think you are right, I'll decrease to -4 the pitch, I think I'll stay at +9 because I have a OS 32 and I don't want to bug it. I have seen how it climbs with +9 and it's pretty good.
my normal flight throttle curve: 18%, 23%, 38%, 64, 100, hover with throttle stick at 60% corresponding to 52% in throttle curve (motor). My engine screams with throttle above 45%, that is why I was thinking about setting the IDLE 1 points to 40%, 42.5%, 45%, 64%, 100%, but I wanted to know if it was ok, or I should increase the low 3 points to around 50 because I hover with 52% and I want to keep the RPM constant. As I said before, I want the raptor for sport flying only, nothing aerobatic.
opinions about my curve for IDLE 1????? I appreciate your time guys.......
