As I stated in the title, this is in NO WAY a thread to sling mud or create conflict etc... I am considering getting a 90 sized bird in a month or two, once I complete my final 2 of 4 TREX 600's(2 ea Nitro and Electric). I love them, they fly nice and the quality to this neophyte seems great, at least compared to some other choppers I've seen in person, or owned. I'm still a very very new pilot, so in some ways it's silly for me to own 4 larger choppers, but I'm impatient and had some $ to burn, so what the hell. I figure I'll be less fearful to learn and crash if I have a nice backup chopper or 2.

So leading to my question. I was telling a friend who worked in the hobby trade for awhile I was considering the Gohbee 90. He laughed at me like I was an idiot, and said the Raptor is a much higher quality kit and to just buy that. He cautioned me that I might have more quality control issues with the Gohbee and there wouldn't be any local support at our field(which is true as I've never seen a Gohbee at the field before. Then again there aren't many chopppers I ever see at our field).

It appears to me in pictures etc.. that the Gohbee head is a higher quality item than the Raptor plastic head. I'm no engineer, but it looks better to me. I would think the Raptor 90SE would be a killer machine, but I really don't want to drop $1k on a kit, which leads me to the Stinger 90 which appears to be a great value and good bang for the large chopper buck. I was also thinking of possibly converting it to gasser, but I'm not sure yet what I want to do. If I went big $ on a 90 I think I'd wait for the Aurora, but who knows when that will be out if ever.

Please advise in realistic terms as to what my expectations should be if I get a Gohbee kit. I don't want to spend 3 weeks chasing gremlins. I want to build something and fly it. I have read some past threads and it appeared there where some issues with clutches and fan hubs not being indexed right. I might have mixed that up with other choppers though as I've been reading so much lately I have a headache

i have a gohbee 30 and a trex 600 and a electric trex 500 for the yard. I am also thinking about a 90 so my delima is wait on the trex 700 or buy a gohbee 90. my gohbee 30 flys nice it has the metal head and i have not had any problems other than dumb thumbs with it however it seems my trex 600 is more refined. at my flying skill level I think for me I will get the gohbee 90 there coustomer service is great and in the event of a crash parts are shipped the same day you order in my case I get them the next day but I live in south carolina which is where they are.

I looked at some Gohbee helis at the B'ham funfly and I must say they looked really nice and well engineered. I wouldn't think of them as bad or cheap on quality. just my .02

thx for the feedback
I'll probably buy a trex 700 once they come to market and are found to have no glaring problems. I would like some more feedback on the gohbee as that stinger 90 is just so damm temping

now a motor lol

thx

i've had one for a while now. good flying machines, the metal head is tight and great. no typical slop. for $500-600, you won't find anything close comparable for that price.

for the record, I own some 450s, a align 600e, the gohbee 90, and i plan to get a align 700 when they come out.

I have a good sized fleet of helies.
In that fleet are helies from Xcell (1), Century (3), Hirobo (2), Thunder Tiger(2) Align (1) MS Composite (1), and of course all of the helies from Gohbee (6).
Having built, flown, repaired, and maintained all of these helies, I can say that I do not believe that a "perfect" heli exists. They all have their issues. Heck one of those kits is a $1400 Kit that required a LOT of rework on my part to get to fit together properly.
With that being said, I do believe that Gohbee Is a very good value. shur some of the machining is not as "pretty" as in a heli costing twice as much, but to me beauty is in the air. and it does get it done in the air, Maintanance amd repair costs are reasonable, which keeps the pucker factor down so I can fly harder without worring about breaking the bank.

I do understand that since I am a Gohbee Field rep that what I say will be taken with some skepticism, I would not expect less.
As you can see from the list above, most of my hard earned money is in Gohbee helies, and trust me, Field Reps do NOT get all of their stuff free.
I became a Gohbee rep AFTER I owned and liked the product.
Out of that fleet, I would guess that 90+% of my flying is done on my trusty Stinger 50.
For me it is the perfect mix of power, performance, and cost.

I hope that helps without sounding to much like a commercial.

I just got the phazor 600 friday whent together very well , I think you would be hard pressed to find a nicer bird. lots of bling, very lite. very beefy. and with 4hp it should out perform 90's that weigh 4 to 5 pounds more.mine weighs 7 pounds 4 oz ready to fly.if you whant performance for your doller i would try one these. I to was thinking of going to 90's, but didn't whant to drop 2000.00 on a bird that only has a slightly better power to weight ratio, and i heard they drink fuel like it's going out of style.so for the price of a 50 and repair cost of a 50. with an awsome power to weight ratio it's a nobrainer for me. as for batteries 50 tanks of fuel on a 90 will buy you a pretty good battery and they are good for 200 charges or more. so after 100 flights your money ahead on the bettery over nitro. and for me i fly alot. i use 1 to 2 gallons a week of fuel in my 50's so anyway i can save money .and have extreme performance i'm there

thanks guys
I appreciate the feedback :)
I was thinking along the same lines and I just wanted some assurance. I will consider a Gohbee stinger 90 when I want a larger bird. For now I have to work on fixing the nut behind the stix ;)
thx
