I'm trying to adjust the pinion mesh on a Knight 600E.

The frame has slots in it to move the motor mounting plate forward or back in order to achieve proper gear mesh..... the counter bearing does not. Do I need to notch the frame so the counter bearing can slide back with the motor? If I move the motor back as is it's going to be crooked.

Hi Jeremy,

In both the kits I have built I've only found that the outer frame has slots in it where the motor is mounted. (inner frame has just holes) Does yours have slots on the inner frame as well? Both motors I have mounted into the frames have needed no adjustment and the gear mesh has been perfect. If you have slots on the inner frame I suggest that you leave the upper bearing support holes as is and just line up the motor to the main gear.

Cheers

Matt
