I have been trying to sell my 2 TP Extreme 4s 3850 lipos and no one has even made an offer. So, rather than let them go to waste, I am thinking of taking them apart and make 1 6s pack out of them.
Can someone point me in the right direction? I have done this before by turning 2 2s packs into a 3s pack, but going from 2 4s to a 6 is a little more difficult because of the balance plugs. A normal TP lipo has 2 balance plugs, how can I make this work with the existing 4s plugs?
The balance plug issue is really what I am after.
I am using the Hyperion with the TP balance boards, can you use that board and plug both 4s balance plugs into it?
Anyway, hoping someone might have a good source for this.

you are going to run 6s 3850 on a 500? I think it might be better to run 5s 3850. are the cells in the two packs matched, do the have the same resistance and voltage?

here's a link (http://www.rctoys.com/pdf/TP210-manual-R3.pdf) to the tp210 balancer manual. it has a schematic of all the balancer tap types, and how they go to each cell of the different packs.

You can buy 7 pin male xh balance plugs from ebay etc, should be easy enough to solder these on,

I buy these cheap lipos from ebay, and make them into 6s packs using the plugs above, 25c, 40c burst ;)

They are indeed cheap! Are they as good as they are cheap?

Thank you very much. I completely forgot about that little diagram. I ordered the connectors lastnight and will have no problem making that happen. I really appreciate the help everyone.

Unless the cells in the packs are very well matched you are probably wasting your time as they won't last in a high amp draw situation if they are not matched cell to cell. Have you tried asking TP if they can do it for you, I know they do repair some packs. They may be willing to combine for you.

well, so far so good, i'm waiting for some decent weather to give them a proper hammering, but I have been running my 500 on two cheap Chinese 2200 20c batts for a while now, they are holding up great so far, so these 25c batts should be better still, the trex runs nowhere near continuous 55a so they should be fine, but I'll let you know if they puff or explode etc hehe ;)
