Need this info to set-up my Eagletree brushless rpm sensor.

Also this motor is 650KV right? The Expert version is 680KV?

My 30-12 std didn't come with all this info! Looks the goods, can't wait to try it tomorrow!

Got it to replace my Neu 1912H/1Y. This motor is a bit overkill, heavy too - about 400g vs 300g for the Orbit. Cos of the high KV of 825, have to run a 65% throttle curve on my 55-10-32 for 2300rpm HS. This heats it up more, would prefer 75% curve.

Also the Neu was hurting my 3700 packs, 3027mah out after just under 4min of medium 3D with max 12 degs pitch! This with the flybar head though. Max 104A, 3450W. Av current 41A - too high, that's like 11C. My Trex 600 on 6S avs 55A which is also about 11C with 4900 packs. Therefore the 3700's ain't gonna last any longer! On a cool day they were coming down 130 degs. Would prefer av current of 30A which had on Vbar and max 100 degs on the packs.

Hopefully the Orbit will treat my packs better otherwise will need to get 4350's which not keen on.

The standard Orbit you can expect peaks around 100amps-105, on the HE you can expect 110-120. If you want to talk about the best power production in regards to minimum amp draw so far out of all the motors the Actro 32-3 is the best. Yes it weighs 440 grams but it will pull up to 690s without sweating and will pull only upwards of 95 max amps even with 620mm mains. The Actros are like Diesel motos to me, they do not rev high but can pull when you need it at the bottom of a move. The Actro does taper off on power after 3:40-3:50 ish or so but I can handle that. The NEU has the best ability to pull power from packs, even ones that are abit saggy, the NEU 1912(H)-1Y is the most powerfull there is no doubt, but,,,, 13tooth pinion and as you stated a backed off Gov sucks and it is abit greedy and harder on packs. The Orbits are decent, but they are not the easiest on packs either, better than NEU yes, better than a Actro or Tango in this regards then no.

Taipan, so how is the Orbit treating you, have you had a chance to try it and what pinion did you settle with?

Shawn, good timing, flew the Orbit today.

I bought it off my mate along with a 16T pinion recommended to him by Tom Kreuzberger. Slapped it in, well not that easily. The shaft was a very tight fit in the counterbearing, had to polish it with fine sandpaper.

Redid mode 1 & 4 on the Jazz, excellent instructions in techical matters btw mate. Throttle curve flat 75%. Tached at 2070rpm in hover. Bumped to 85%, 2190rpm, better and gave it some.

I counted 12 set of magnets on the motor & set that in my logger but after flying it said max 1860rpm, tried 8 pole count like the Neu, 2800rpm nah. 10 poles & gave about 2200rpm which should be it. Max current was just over 100A, can't remember. Max peak per flight was around 2600W but did get 3100W once or twice, did get a peak of 3700W but had to be an error.

The av. HS was 2100rpm, min about 1850prm in 12 deg climbout. Wasn't that much more powerful than my stock 6S T-Rex but bogged less. Cyclics were slower than the Rex (which has 600N paddles & 440mm flybar for fast cyclics.)

Flew more in the arvo, flights were 4:30m and put back around 2700-2800. A 30sec improvement over the Neu. Packs were the same temp really as with Neu. Motor temps same. Speedy was a lot cooler, no wonder, 85% vs 65% before!

The cyclics are a bit too slow for my liking. I rather like flying with the Neu knowing it won't bog. The Orbit didn't hold HS as well as the Neu.

Remember this is all with a FLYBAR head! Notgoing back to Vstabi just get.

Hmm, wish I got 4350's from the beginning. Not mad on the PJ if it has that weird start-up routine. Dunno which wil come out first, the Jive or Aurora!

Ah well, only if money grew on trees & I'd buy everything!

Kev. ;)

Bit late for that info Shawn! :D

You have a PM from me btw.
