View Full Version : dx7 throttle hold weirdness

I decided to enable throttle hold today, I went into the menu and set throttle hold to -20% and the rudder d/r switch to control the throttle hold.

Here is the weirdness: I turn the heli on with throttle hold off, everything is normal. Then I test it by spinning up then switching to throttle hold on (rudder d/r switch). As expected, the throttle is killed but pitch is still reacting. Now, the problem is that when I switch throttle hold off (rudder d/r switch) the throttle goes on automatically and I can't stop it by putting the stick all the way down. When the stick is all the way down with throttle hold now off, the throttle is on but about idle speed, maybe 1,000 rpm. If I raise the stick the rpms increase but I can never stop the throttle unless I switch back into throttle hold. I have to disable throttle hold to get my normal throttle functionality.

What's the deal? any ideas

Make sure "throttle recovery" is inhibited---use the soft start on the on the esc--set throttle end points slightly below zero...

What ESC? I have heard of ESCs that will read the lowest throttle signal as 0 and anything above that will be on.

So when you use TH, the ESC -20, so 0 becomes a reasonable amount of throttle.

Try setting your TH to 0.

Good thinking Pinecone, you were right. Nice job. Thanks both for the replies
