Hi
Not long ago I bought my self a real heli (trex 600) and I now manage to hover and fly it quit well. I am looking into to get into buying a scale. I have found that the md-500 and the airwolf like an easy build, but to me seems a bit boring and i was stupid enough to buy a 6 channel radio. Does someone have a good suggestion for a scale body? I don't mind modifying a bit.

Actually, the prepainted 500 is a good stepping stone into scale. You get a great looking helicopter without a lot of work. Want to up the ante a bit, install nav/anti-collision/landing lights. This is what I did. You'll be amazed at how much you'll learn. I'm taking that knowledge and applying it to my next project, a Century S-61 Sea King.
There aren't many scale helos at the club where I fly, so the 500 always attracts a lot of attention. On top of that, it just looks so cool in the air!

Nice. Got any pictures?
I am leaning a bit toward a md-500. Know any good suppliers?
A ec-135 would be perfect, but i can't find anyone that makes one.

There are a few pictures here in my gallery, a vid clip of the first flight on www.youtube.com (search for rchelopilot) and pictures in my galery at RR.
Here's a teaser attached. The green one is mine; 50 size and the red one is a friends 30 size.
I purchased mine through Century/Heli-World. It's a Funkey fuselage and has a set of generic instructions as well specific instructions for the Sceadu, Raptor and Century Hawk/Raven. Others have also fit T-Rex 600 mechanics in it. The quality is very good and the packaging is outstanding at protecting the fuse during shipping.
Search the Scale heli's thread and review the Hughes 500 threads. There are several with links to pictures and build experience suggestions. My pics can be found linked to the scale lights thread. I believe that the Century Heli site has the best prices currently. There is a rumor that Align has purchased Funkey -- which may make life interesting shortly.

The MD500 is kind of like the P51 of scale helicopters, because it's very popular. It's always been one of my favorites, and fortunately there's a lot of variety in how you can finish them, so you can still have a unique ship. It also has the advantage of a nice, big fuselage to fit a variety of mechanics, making for a relatively easy build.
The Thunder Tiger fuselages go together on the Raptor 50 super easily, and are a great way to get started in scale. Raptors are cheap and plentiful, as are parts. They can be adapted to other mechs without too much trouble. Unfortunately, IMHO (and with the exception of the new civilian MD500), their paint schemes suck... but if you can paint, you can make a very nice model out of one. Here's my MD500 and an Ecureil (AS355) I built for a friend:

Thunder Tiger also has a 50 size A119 Koala coming...that should be fairly unique, as I know of no other 50 size A119...
The FunKey fuses are very nice, I'm working on a 60 size JetRanger at the moment. Just be prepared for a little more work to install the mechanics and get them flying.

And if you are interested in a large selection of scale fuselages that fit the 600 very well you will find all the great 50 sized ones from Century work very well...and are of awesome quality compared to most others. I found they had excellent fiberglass work, their prepainted ones being very impressive, with detail that would take many hours to reproduce if one had to do it themselves.
You will find many threads about them in the Scale Heli forums on some other sites (e.g. RR and Scale Helicopters)
Check them out, the selection is also very extensive.
