With one of my 3S 2200 battery's i get the connection break error when charging at 2 amps. If I lower it to 1.7 it charges fine. Could to be a bad deans connector? I tried adjusting the connection but the error keeps happening. The battery works great in the heli with no connection problems. :bomb:

More than likely it is. Connection Break is a break in circuit.

A couple of months back, I bought a 5S A123 pack from a buddy of mine, new never used. When connected to the charger, Connection Break. Using a DVM, everything checked out. Turns out it was a bad deans on the battery. Replaced the deans and it worked fine. The deans was new as well, so it was confusing at at first.

Usually, it works or it doesn't, interesting that at lower amps it works. Change the deans and see.

Well now I am having the same problem with the other battery. I see what is happening now. Whenever it starts charging it charges up to 2.4 amps then cuts off to the connection break error. It is only set a 2.0 amps? I have to lower it to 1.6 which it stays at but anymore amps it jumps up to 2.3-2.4 amps? Any ideas?

This is confusing? After charging the battery for 35 minutes at 1.5 amps I adjusted it to 2 amps and it charged at exactly 2 amps. It seems like when I hook up a low battery the charging amps are getting out of control.?

1). Please list the brand lipo batteries you are using.

2). Has this happened only on Balance Charge? Have you tried Lipo charge or Fast Charge?

3). Have you tried a new or difference charge cable?

Redo the charge using the Nomal lipo charge and do not connect the balance board. Let me know if it happens again.

1. Blackdog RC 2100 and APLUS 220 from flying-hobby.com both 3S lipos
2. This happens on all modes
3. No, Cut the alligator clips and solder deans instead.
4. I will try this after I fly and discharge the other battery.

One more thing. I noticed the amps jumped to 2.8 amps when it first charged today. i hit the stop button and lowered it to 1.5 amps which it charged at.

I suggest you try a new charge cable. Many times I have seen issues where the charge cable is the problem and in most cases, it was when they were made by the user vs a premade one.

If you get the same issues with a known good charge cable, then contact your dealer about this problem.
