Somehow I find my self needing to replace the one way (main) gear too often. Okay, I've only replaced it twice, but I don't see how it gets damaged. It has never been chipped or anything but after a blade strike or any other damaging event I check everything and replace what looks wrong and get an unstable bird until I realize that the main gear is rotating unevenly (one side is slightly tilted down causing a subtle see-saw looking motion). This adds TONS of vibration and instability, so I replace it and bingo bango. But what causes this gear to loose it's rigidity like this? I've seen 3 or 4 posts over on the gaui 550 forum that complain about the one way gear used there. Is it a gaui engineering issue with these one way gears? I hope they aren't limited to 30 flights or something before they become warped.
