Amperage Draw: Digital/Analog Servo?

Can a general statement be made about which draws more amperage digital or analog?
Or it is it more a question of torque and speed?

The amplifier in a digital servo updates the motor position many more times per second than an analog amp, also full torque is realized almost instantly on a digital where a standard servo needs to be something like 10 degrees away from its commanded position for max torque. All that comes at the expense of increased power consumption.
