I am going to start buying parts for the 700N. Wondering what setups others will be running?(servos, gyros, etc.)

So far I know I will be using
YS .91SR with an MP5
JR X9303 with R921 RX
Futaba BLS451 Brushless cyclic(may go with some JR 8717's)
Futaba BLS251 Brushless Heli Rudder High-Torque Servo
Align 2in1 regulator
Multi-gov
Spartan DS760 Gyro
Radix Main and Tail blades
May go with some Super Stubz but will try the stock paddles

I would use
JR 8717 cyclic
spartan 760 w/JR8900G
ys 91 with an align 90 pipe.
new beefier align 2in1 made to handle higher power servos on a 90.
v main a tails
supper stub paddles.
the beefy 2in1 and align 90 pipe are made up, dont say "this guy on helifreak said they are making a beefier 2in1 to handle higher current." align will probably make their own 90 size pipe, but have not heard anything about that yet.

If you were to run the 8717's in 8v and the rest of the system on the 2 in 1 it should be an easy load on the 2 in 1 ?

This is what I bought:
YS 91 SR
Hatori 19fh YS SR edition
Spartan with a jr8900G for tail
8717 servos for cyclic
Futaba 9252 for throttle
Multigov
Carbsmart with HS81
Radix 710 Stick Banger blades
Align 6 amp BEC (Im hoping 6 amps will be enough)

I dont think that would work, you cant put 8v to the receiver and 6 volt and direct the 8v to some of the servos and the 6v to the other.

YS 91sr
hatori sb 19
8717s (4)
spartan
8900 or I might use an 8717 on the tail
multigov
not sure on blades
straight 8V
ar 7000

Seems like a lot of people are going YS. I just looked the YS 91SR up and it seems like a great motor. Still trying to decide between OS and YS. Although the YS is 339.00 and the OS is 399.00.

Have:
2 sets of V's 1 set of Radix
YS 91,MP5 (paid $130 for both brand new):smokin:
Getting:
8717
GY611?
Regulator? Probably not an Align after I had two 2in1 crap out in short order.:arggg:
Align is replacing them though:) but they told me no problem using the same one in there 700N:thinking

no not 611 to much money and the spartan is better.

LoveMyTrex.. what makes you think the 6 amp Align BEC wont work? After all, Align put the 2 in 1 on the 700 for test flights and that is 6 amps as well.

sorry I was not saying the align 6amp bec would not work I meant what rc marty said wouldnt work

Just a rumor that a NEW OS 90 size motor is coming with better carb control over the SZ and should solve some of the issue with the SZ carb. It's also suppose to be slightly bigger.... Oh and another rumor that fuel injection maybe coming........ That was a big rumor though.

fuel injection? sign me up.
if there is plan for forced induction, I will be in line for one as well.

chillax, magicmalik. just because there is a vette, it does not mean the school bus is obsolete:)
you never know, there might be 8V gyro/servo combo available when the 700 actually goes on sale. then, bec will be a thing of past. anyone from gyro manufacturers wartching this forum? maybe we should start a petition for a complete line of electronics that work on raw 2-cell lipos.

the spartan can run on 8v. you could use an 8717 on the tail for an 8v tail setup:YeaBaby:

That will be sweet!!!
Its about time!!!
We now have 4 stroke engine!! Why not fuel injection???

You can use the new Duralite 7V regulator, bobby watts test it and now they sell it.
So it's not too high voltage if you afraid, and it's not 6V.
With 3 diodes or step down or another small regulator you can run the tail at about 5V.

Lovemytrex..
Why couldn't the 2in1 and 8717's be used ?
I'd run the rx , gyro , throttle servo , carbsmart , etc on the 2 in 1
run the 8717's off the 2 cell lipo.
Take the power wires from the 8717' to the 2 cell lipo , take the signal from the rx to the 8717's.
Black and ground should be the same point from the same source.
You wouldn't even need the spectrum regulator.
Feel free to let me know if this doesn't work.
-----------
The spartan is rated 8 volts ? if that's the case how would the 8717 be for a tail servo ? Besides being excessive on torque. Considering a decent tail servo is $100+ , it right up there with a 8717.
Of course a small bec inline to the servo would work (park bec) as it's only on 1 servo but that kinda defeats the purpose IMO. I think the real benifit of the 8v system is the elimination of electronics , kiss method - less in the mix less points of failure.

I guess that could work, I dont think I would go throught that much trouble to run my servos thought. the 8717s should be shomthing like .05 seconds transit speed so they would be an awsome tail servo at 8v.

So far I know I will be using
YS .91SR with an MP5
JR X9303 with R921 RX
Futaba BLS451 Brushless cyclic(may go with some JR 8717's)
Futaba BLS251 Brushless Heli Rudder High-Torque Servo
Align 2in1 regulator
Multi-gov
Spartan DS760 Gyro
Radix Main and Tail blades
May go with some Super Stubz but will try the stock paddles
I'd go with this setup. But I would change the following:
OS SZ91 w/ pump
Hatori SB18 FH muffler
Futaba 12 FGH transmitter
Futaba BLS 451 for cyclic and S9254 for the throttle
Futaba GY611 with the BLS251 servo for the tail
Same regulator (Align 2-in1)
Futaba GV1 Governor
V-Blades (Main and Tail)
You can't go wrong with the BLS 451 servos for the cylic. This is the same servos I am using on my Freya Evo 90 and it's been very good to me.

they are good servos, but not as good as 8717s. but you obviously like futaba so I can guess you wont be using 8717s.

How about a YS91 SR and an SB17H?

Why all the full size servo's on throttle, there are plenty of good micro servo's these days which are lots lighter/cheaper and do just as fine on the throttle

I ordered the YS 91 SR, Hatori SB19, 8717's, DS760, Radix SB.
Still need governor, carbsmart, throttle and tail servos. Already have AR7000. Need the heli now.
