This is from today, it was very windy, but I'm getting sick of just hovering chest high, this was my first time getting any real altitude. I don't know exactly how high I went but I would guess it was at least 20-25 feet. The wind was really blowing it around but I held in there. I know I took off before it had spooled up all the way, I need to work on that.

I really like the Align carbon fiber 3K blades, now I realize just how bad the "Carbon" black and yellow blades are.

What do you guys think, my Blade is all stock, but I changed my throttle curve to 0,50,80,90,100 and I reallly like it a lot better, no more constant "yoyo".

Good flying,

we look like we're about neck and neck. I am about ready for some FF. I need to go somewhere big enough where I can try some small circuits. I have been going forward and backwards and doing some side in hovering.

I understand about the wind. That's all I have been able to fly in here in Ohio. Only it was about 45° here today with some pretty good breezes. Makes for some chilly hands and fingers.

Your machine sounds pretty mean with the new throttle curves.

Is it any more sensitive?

I took all of the expo out of mine about 2 weeks ago, but am still running the stock curves.

Keep up the good flying...

What was the "yoyo" effect you were experiencing? Debating whether or not to change my throttle curve too.

Think he is referring to the same thing I noticed yesterday with first real attempts at stock setup. Trying to land it bounces all over the place, the smallest amount of stick and it leaps or drops like a stone. Experimenting with my curves now to bump up the throttle and level it off abit (like his, 0, 50, 80, 90, 100) and want to flatten out the mid range on the pitch too, 45, 50, 55, 65, 80. Havent tried the pitch settings like that yet, just about to!

Thinking though with the higher head speed the tail should be a little more locked in too.

In this vid from a couple of weeks ago I was using the stock throttle curve.

I did not mean to touch the ground all of those times but with the stock throttle curve when you go to mid stick/zero pitch it really falls and then you have to bounce back up or hit the ground.

If you try the throttle curve I use just remeber that flight time will be decrease a couple of minutes, I get about 5-6 minutes.

The wind does suck but you will be able to hover and fly so much better learning to deal with the wind. and those throttle curves will make it easier to manage those gust!

Be careful when messing with the pitch curves, if you ever intend to use Idle up, and I think you should, you will want your pitch curves past center stick to be the same in normal and idle up modes. That way it will only be different when needing negative pitch or flying inverted and you wont have to learn something else and try to remember between the two.

I think once your doing some forward flight your ready for Idle up, especially if you have already changed your throttle curves to some like you have listed there. Flipping the switch probably will do nothing as long as your pitch curves match from half stick and up with that throttle curve.

sd0, looks pretty good, atleast you're in the air. I'm up in Michigan and we still have snow in spots. I'm ready to get out there, been hitting the sims and hopefully another week. Keep it up (smile) maxout
