After finishing my T-Rex 500 build, I felt it was time for another project.
So, I went ahead and ordered a Logo 500 3D today. :)
To pass the time I started watching Finless' build videos to get familiar with it. I noticed many references about errors in the manual, extra or missing parts, sanding down parts, and even drilling parts to get things right.
Has Mikado worked out any (or all) of these issues?
Should I expect to encounter the same problems with my new kit?
I have to say, the T-rex 500 build seems much easier than this one looks (which is fine, I'm up to the challenge) - but these problems concern me about the quality and reliability of this heli.... should I be worried?

I'm a new "B" never built a heli, and well after building the logo step for step, watching each movie in stages i built my logo 500 3d, I only used the movies, and it turned out perfectly.

I've never built a 500 but would think the Logo 600's just as easy if not easier. I've heard of some parts missing problem happening to some guys but mine didnt have any of these problems. The Logo's manual has all logo's 500's and 600's combined in one manual. Some have found this confusing but again it never caught me out, simply check the heading at top of page before you proceed, and not do what a mate of mine did and start looking for and building a Dx when you've got a 3D...it dosent work (wont mention any names ;). I'm sure every supplier occassionally stuffs up something but they got it right for me!
There are a few errors - e.g. they forget to tell you to use grease on some of the bearings. I don't remember the others.

Yes there were manual errors, since the first edition there have been revisions and additions into the manuals. I have heard the newest manuals are pretty good and have not heard any complaints. As far as worried about quality that is a non issue, the Mikado line far exceeds the quality of your T-rex, I know I have both and can assure you of that. The thing you will notice is that the Logo helis will feel "much" lighter on their feet. The difference between a t-rex 600 and a Logo 500 on 6S is astounding, the Logo 500 is a much more aggressive heli and much quicker, no comparison really.....

I built the 500 3D straight out of the box with the help of people on this web site including the 600 3D videos by Mercuriell at http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=48045 as Bob hadn't done his 500 3D vid yet; and it went together perfectly. The key is look for advice and ask questions here on HeliFreak if you are in doubt.
The build was that good that the blades tracked perfectly when I first ran it up, no vibration and only had to lengthen two links - described by Finless - to get the head set up perfectly. I didn't use any special tools.
An in flight the heli is fantastic - smooooth.

For me coming from a Trex450 i just starting building my 600 this week and to tell the truth i was a bit disappointed at the few parts (so far) that i had to sand\file down ect, and the manual is crap i think, probably ok for you guys who've built many heli but for me its very confusing, if it wasn't for the vids i'd be stuggling hard.
But saying that i can say that its does seem to be very good quality and once certain pts are filed or sanded its very smooth and no slop, i'm about 75% through the kit build and i am enjoying it, just taking my time doing just a bit each day.
This heli is going to blow my mind
