Hi there, well i did have my maiden today and a run a few tank to break in the TT 53H on it. There already comes the first question. On my OS Hyper 50 my idle position is about 1-2mm away from the "closed" mark on the carburetor. The 53H its about twice as far but a veeery satisfying idle (stable and good) is this normal?

When powering up i got some "hole" between idle and the "take-off" position. It starts to sound a bitt like stuttering there, but short before take-off, all is well and in the air it sounds like a cat. (Which needle do i have to play with to get rid of that problem?)

I got about 5-6 Minutes flight time with my 53H (RPM 1800 normal and about 2000 in Idle 1) . I had about 11 with my os 50. I mean i know its a bigger engine but did not expect so much of a difference. What is your flight duration with a TT 53H motor?

Compared to my previously owned Gohbee Stinger 50 and OS-Hyper the Heli has lot more vibrations in the time till take-off. Is this normal for a t-Rex 600. Any ideas on that?

Greetings and thnx for your help.

Max

the 53 is not bigger at least not measurably

its rich becuase it new. That blubbering you hear is normal on a new (rich) engine thats OK for the first gallon or more, then you can lean out the low needle a little bit at a time. Until you can give quick throttle up without it burping so to speak. Where ever the redline ides is where it idles, you cant compare that to a different engine. It is possible that it does burn more fuel is not as efficient as an OS but intil its broken in you cant measure it yet.

Keep an eye on the carb, the one at our field sticks when it warms up

my T600N non pro OS50 hyper vibrated a fair bit during spool up but once spooled it was fine. My 600E does the same. Maybe head dampners not sure.
My 600N is down for repairs though :(, but once she's back up I plan to burn ALOT of nitro through her. Just flies so nice.

Vibration on spool up could be over tight main blades trying to find center. Too loose also sucks but try and find the happy middle.

Low end mixture? I do have the same problem. On spool up it often dies on me. I have 1 3/4 gallon on it. So leaning my low end should help? I think I will try it.

It will definitely help. When I broke in the engine the first time, I left the low end needle at mid-point and had to make almost imperceptible stick advancements to keep it from dying on me...and that was with the high end needle at only about 1.5 turns.

By the time I had to break in my engine the second time, I had found out from one of my flying buddies that he had to lean his low end needle a little, so I set it about 1/16th of a turn lean and set the high end needle at 2 turns and didn't have a bit of trouble keeping it started.

Hi guys, I have had my redline now for a month and I have had a week of work in that time. four days of none stop flying meant over 20 lit. of fuel. but by the sixth tank I had it on 2 and 1/4 turns out and main needle and stock on low end. 20% fuel and it great. will start first time has really low tick over blades now where near turning. and great power. I did have it on 2 and 1/2 turns out, but when I fitted the carbsmart last weekend I noticed it was richening it out on a hot flight so now I have middle setting on the carbsmart at 2 and 1/4 and loads of richening travel on the carbsmart. I am well happy with the engine and the carbsmart.

Thats exactly me! I am at 1 turn + 2 clics. When I land I can touch the engine's bottom no problem.
