That's your pipe Sean? Thing looks dirty for being so new...
I'm going to do a repair on the pipe and it will be nice and shiney when done.

That's awesome that you work with metal. Hope that flying field works out!

Field is decent but I don't think it's going to work out for a regular flying field.

That sucks... At least you're out there trying! Sooner or later you will put it together.

"Shawn's align 50 pipe cracked."
He should not be using a Crack Pipe on a helicopter...
or
Too many Crack Rolls...
Sorry

Went flying Raptor.90's with Lota Fun R yesterday.
It was a very good day, with nice weather (althought quite hot), very little wind, and a very large area to fly in.
It is obvious that Mitch has been practicing a very great deal since he and I last flew together, many months ago. The improvement in aerobatics, nose-in, inverted, etc. was huge.
We probably put in five or six flights each, with no casualities (both helicopters and pilots left the field in tact).
Again, it was a good day!

Ya, it was a good day, we almost had the place to ourselves. Great flying with you Richard. :smokin:
Thanks for the compliments.
Attribute the improved flying to Finless, AirBoss, and Bert M. Bob and Jim for indirectly encouraging me to get the basics down pat and to Bert for walking me through it. I've spent a lot of time buddy boxed to Bert @ Apollo field.

Awesome to hear you are improving Mitch. I am stuck in stick banger mode, my most precission move is inverted/upright hurricanes in all directions. The rest of the time I just kind of stick bang. I can do inverted circuits in any orientation of course but still... I do piro flips and half flips too but still not quite 3D.
STICK BANG! More bang more fun! :D

Whittier Narrows (the flying field part of it) is just north of the 10 Fwy on Rosemead Blvd (on the West side of the street).
Huge field, lots of lovely grass should an impact occur.

North of the 60, not the 10.

Danno,
Forgive, you are correct.
It is North of the 60, South of the 10.
Thank you for catching that!.

Hey all,
So I finally got my AMA membership, got my print out verification while I
wait for the real card in the mail.
Now that I have it, I wanted to finally get out to the weekend flying sites.
Do you all have some schedule you follow? Like Saturdays at Carson
and Sundays at Arbor park or Whittier or whatever? What times do you all go?
Can I also get some directions to some of these places?

Our flying schedule is pretty random. I mostly fly at the basin and Mitch usually fly's at Whittier, however for the past few weeks Mitch has been going to the basin more often

Keep an eye on this topic to meet up with some of the LA fliers.
This weekend the Buzzin the border fun fly kinda messes things up.
We are more than happy to welcome new fliers and help out where we can.
Whittier is a good place to fly, as well as Apollo, Carson is a members only from what I understand, I could be wrong about Carson.

Are you gonna go to buzzin Mitch? I guess not since you crashed your 90...

I got all my 700 parts in hand except my 3400 TP receiver pack. No time to finish it right now though...
Yeah LA crowd is a great crowd. :noteworthy Apollo people are there almost everytime I ever went there except when it is taken over by some event.
Anyway gotta jet... :badair:

Do a search:
Whittier Narrows
Apollo field..........Woodley Park
Probably the easiest way to get directions. :YeaBaby:

Planning on it. Got parts for the 90 and the 600N on the way. :YeaBaby:
And, I didn't crash, I was gravity challenged. :)

HAHA funny Mitch!
You do realize it's this weekend right?
Lota Fun R
09-11-2008, 12:13 AM
Yes I do. I ordered everything Monday.
For the 90, new blades even though I still have a pair of Radix 710s, boom, TT drive, fan shroud, flybar, other misc stuff..........adapter plates to use micro servos on the throttle for both the 90 and 600.
The 600 is getting a Muscle pipe, 3 8717s and that's all it needs. It's all built with exception of installing servos.
Should get most of the parts tomorrow.
I went ape $hit and just ordered all of it. :YeaBaby:
