That blows!

Maybe Thursday?

I've been meaning to get out to OCMA but it just hasn't happened. :(

Maybe the weather will give us a break soon and cool down a bit.

Can't walk around the lake or using the picnic area without paying $20 for each adult and $9 for kids (4-12). Free entry is limited to the store and the bar.

You mean a SAFARI from OCMA to the lake ... bring along a camera and take pictures of the wild animals, including many species of birds, snakes, lizards, deers AND two mountain lions last seen two weeks ago! :P

Yea... SAFARI baby!
Doubt you would see a mountain lion in that direct though... Deer maybe!

No different than hiking in the Angelos National Forrest or even Griffith park!

Nice day. Rich and I had to share the field with three others, locals that I see out there just about every time I go to Whittier.

Lots of flying time. :YeaBaby:

After Rich left I had the place to myself. :smokin:

MItch,

I agree, that was a good day (especially because everything came home in one piece).

It was nice to fly the Knight 3D again (and with the new nose). I have not flown it since Buzzin the Border.

It is my favorite machine these days.

Let's do this again next week!

I got a 611 for my Knight!

Sean,

You are really going to like that.

The tail on the Knights is already outstanding (as you are already aware).

The 611 makes it even better!

Congrats!

I finally got AMA  so I can start coming out and flying with you guys. Been planning to for a long time but I was waiting for 9/15 cuz I'm cheap.

Too much work this weekend though but I will be there for LA3D. Do I have to enter somewhere to just fly if I don't want to compete? Probably one heck of a long line though yeah?

Mike,

Outstanding on the AMA thing and that you will be able to join us at Whittier!

From what I have read, for the LA3D they would like for you to enter the contest in advance, but you can register at the site (hopefully someone can confirm this).

You can register online at their website, or you can register at the funfly. Don't worry mike, registration never has lines that long.

I don't want to compete I just want to throw my 500e around a little. I will have my son with me so I can't dedicate myself to competing. Pushing a ball around with a heli sounds fun though, err, until you hit the ball with the blades. :D

Edit:
Ok I looked at the page and it looks like good luck trying to fly. I will just go watch.

You won't have trouble flying Mike. What are you talking about?

Too bad my wife decided to cram family activities this saturday and sunday.

But I'm not working Monday or Tuesday...anyone going out those days?

Ah Clem

Maybe Tuesday?

I am actually going to stop flying for a few days, as I am pretty well burned out at the moment.
(stopping both the simulator and actual flying for a few days seems to clear this up).

Since Apollo is closed this weekend for an event, I may head to Whittier Narrows Sunday morning. I've never been there, so... Is there plenty of room to fly? Is Nitro OK? Are there pit tables? Shade?

Thanks

I believe Whittier Narrows is closed this weekend for some type of race.

Not sure if it is both days.

My 500 now has grass stains on the tail blades.... hehehe
Woohoo.

Managed to maiden hover. got a lot of tail wag and had to dial down
the gain on the 770 a lot.

I'm using the 6s 2200mah TP battery and I think the 500 is slightly
tail heavy. Thinking about what to do about that.

Also, I think I need to dial up the headspeed slightly. Also seem to
have a slight up/down tail bob. I'm only using the 12T pinion.

Can't address the gain until you address the headspeed problem. Move the battery more forward some.

Grass stains come off with alcohol. :D
