I believe Whittier Narrows is closed this weekend for some type of race.

Not sure if it is both days.

Damn, that sucks... just overhauled my 500 with a new motor and TT, put a new motor, ESC, and scale body on my 450. My helis are all dressed up with nowhere to go...

Anyone know if its open Sunday?

Sean,

Just let it go.

There is no reason to stir things up.

Alright I'm not even trying to stir things up, but yes I know what you mean.

The new elevator upgrade for the 600N has to be 1 or 2 turns before it is all the way tight to get even pitch. Just thought I would save you guys the trouble if you happen across this. Can't remember exactly but I can measure if anyone needs it.

Despite the cloudy weather it was a good day, right at the end the sun popped through and made for some good flying.

Nice to see all the old faces and meet some new ones. :smokin:

Here's Jason Chow's 600N I know it is running 8v last time I seen it though and man does he keep it clean. One sweet heli for sure.

You didn't tell them anything about it JC hard to sell that way.

I can vouch for it, I have flown it (many moons ago).

Your are right Mike. He always keeps his equipment in top shape (like you do!).

Sorry to hear about your creative landing Mitch but glad to hear you had a great day flying. Least it wasn't the Rappy!

Mitch,

Sorry to hear your machine went in, but it happens to all of us.

Your flying is improving in the proverbial "leaps and bounds".

Didn't even break the blades, head came clean off, made a boomerang out of one of the skids. :YeaBaby::YeaBaby:

It landed in the softest grass there, not too bad. It was doing this :banana then it looked like this... :wow2::arggg: :dontknow

Repair list:

Main shaft
feathering spindle
Jesus bolt
super glue
rubber grommet for canopy

I bent the skid straight, looks fine. Need to glue the rear stabilizers and straighten flybar, flybar is barely bent. Canopy just got a few scars. It's almost finished. :smokin: :cheers

I thought I stripped one of the hs65mg's and ordered one to replace it, it doesn't need it. Now I have a spare.

It always happens that way.....
"This will be my last flight..."
Then :arggg:

Anyways, otherwise it was a good day.
Thanks to Richard for talking me through some things.
I think I made a few steps forward in my flying today.

I flew my Raptor today and the rev limiter is working, on my first flight we tached the headspeed and got it set. Then I went to fly around a bit, it would die when inverted. ??????

Didn't want to get into it at the field, turns out, it was the clunk in the header tank, line too long, it was hanging up because it was just the right amount too long.

Problem solved.

Gonna fly again Thursday if anyone is interested. :smokin:

I got work so I will not be able to go.

Another thing about today...my 450 still has that annoying tail drift.
Finless had a chance to check it over at Arbor-Park last weekend
and made some recs...which I implemented.
I rewired it according to Finless recommendations.
I also moved the ball-link on the tail servo out a little on the servo arm
per Finless recommendations.
And still, it drifts. I'm seriously thinking about buying a 770 for my 450
and seeing if that fixes it...I've tried just about everything else.

Make sure your rudder trim is in the middle. (On outside face not subtrim)
Rebind. If you are running the 921 receiver keep rebinding until the red light is always solid.

Edit:
I realize you are talking about the Trex 500 so comments removed on servo horn ball location. 2nd or 3rd both work well I am in the 3rd hole on the star wheel.
