I don't know Jim?
I may not fly at all this weekend.
With the all the negative stuff going on lately I'm really considering calling it quits. I love to fly but it's becoming too much of a hassle to do so. I'm going to give it some time and see how things pan out.

wow. and I feel like I'm in the way with a little electric 450.. cant imagine glow/nitro.
Sorry guys, feel for ya.
There is so much available space at hansen dam. I'd love to get permission to use one of the large un-used areas near the river bed just east of the park.

last time I drove by there I saw about 8 dirt bikes riding around.
Last time I flew there, there was a really young kid riding a 50 around supervised by his parent, he rode to close to the heli's even after being warned about the dangers.
Plus, my only nitro crash was there, not too fond of the place and can see it being shut down very soon because of the dirt bikes.

Thats odd. I go a few days a week in the am and almost every sat and sunday morning. Never seen a dirtbike but I know its frowned on for nitro which is why I'd like to get permission for one of the unused areas.
I currently fly with the plankers (red area). Everytime I drive by I notice the huge amount of unused acreage to the east (blue area).
Edit: There currently is no permission to fly rc helis or planks at hansen dam. The plankers have a verbal okay that as long as no attention is brought to them they can fly. The plankers have been nice enough to let me fly with them since I've shown the ability to control my heli and its not Nitro. As I mentioned I;d like to look into getting an area ok'd where park users dont typically go for electric and nitro. Now all I have to do is meet some park commissioners daughter. lol.

All I know is what I saw on my way to Robbins field.
If you look at the red circle there is a path in a circle made by motorcycles.

Hey Mitch, so whats the deal with you guys? I'm assuming you fly at Whittier most often? I'm looking for a new place to fly and some people to fly with. ;)

Deal is: There isn't a club or representation so to speak for the LA guys and there needs to be, so I guess until something else pops up this is it.
Anyone that wants to rally the guys for a day at Whitier is more than welcome to. Sat or Sun or?
Any new guy looking for other people to fly with and get help are welcome to come out and fly or get help with their heli.
There is always a group of heli pilots at Whittier to fly with on any given day.
If you want to meet up this weekend that would be great, definately need to check to make sure the field is available on any given weekend. Just call the field and ask. (626) 575-5526
Ahclem/Richard and I will be there today, I'm headed out in a few minutes.
The more that show up, the more that will show up. If that makes sense.

I am really torqued.
I had to abort my trip to Whittier Narrows this morning due to work issues.
My apologies Mitch.
I got a total of one flight in this week...

Of course I know. :YeaBaby:
Trying to decide if I should make the trip down south Or go the Whittier Narrows tomorrow.
I would have a much more productive day if I stay local! Zguy will likely be at Whittier too.
I would really like to go watch all my heros fly but I think I would rather just fly than watch. Helluva lot cheaper too.
Ah Clem: as always, no worrys bro. :smokin: I didn't bring enough fuel to fly much and I crashed the 450, low power battery helped with the crash. I've got the 450 back together and dialed in better than ever. It's MUCH better now, all the bearings were toast and needed replacement.
I did pick up a case of %30 Cool power today so fuel isn't an issue.

I'd go but right now I have nothing to fly. Good news is that my new 600e should be here by Thursday, so next weekend is a go :YeaBaby:
Hey if any of you guys need some fuel, I got a couple of gallons of Coolpower 30 I can sell to you cheap.

Its from horses. The:BSSmakes for an interesting challenge. Would really suck to crash into a big pile. If someone is riding over there they can go somewhere else. I've once seen a guy on a little 50 and he left as soon as I walked up the field.

does resemble it a bit. what I was going for is visibility at distance, so when I go 500ft + and hit the hold it will still be seen. not going to spend every dollar $$$$ on a canopy that self destructs on impact

Zguys honey bee king, ( I think that's what it's called?)

The logo again, weird deal with the blades looking bent. Is that the flapping deal?

The Raptor. I put on a extended tube for the exhaust and it keeps some of the spent fuel off the heli. Still running rich, may go to Whittier again tomorrow to dial it in for optimum power. pic taken right at take off so the engine is cold.

Can I come out and play?
What's the weather look like?
The tips are going forward on one side and backwards in the other, that's what doesn't make sense.
