Robbins Field (aka: port-a-potty field) is a privet field, you must go to Robbins Hobby and pay for the privilege. I must tell you it’s like flaying in a hallway. :smokin:

Well, I finally did. I finished building my trex 450se.
As I previously posted before, I'm a total newbie to this hobby
and I tried to follow all the finless videos as best as I could.

Now that I'm done, I kind of want an expert to look over my build before
I try to power it up and get it hovering.

I don't even know where any local fields are....I live in Redondo Beach.

Can anyone give me some info, and would anyone like to volunteer to
check over my build? :)

Good for you, :cheers

I haven't been flying much lately or I would of helped you get your heli flying.

It is a big deal, I know.

Hope everything is working out good. :smokin:

Ok, finally have the funds to get the Rappy back in the air.

I can get all the parts here or there.

The thing I'm having a hard time finding is a decent composite canopy.

Nobody does custom stuff that isn't out of this world expensive.......

I went to "canomod" and you have to search through their dealers to find one. and nobody carries them.

They need website help. If they want me to buy from them.

I found a canopy I want from canomod, the "flyaway3D". had to find it by doing a search on google, the link here didn't get me even close. Went through the registration process, all that. They want $65 to ship it, no other options, that ain't gonna happen.

They really don't want to sell their stuff. What a hassle.

So far, they don't have my money and I'm still looking for a canopy.

Great.

check out ACEHELIS.com for canopies. I just ordered 2 from "Insane canopy" and 1 fron ace.

MItch,

It has been a long time since I was there, but Hobby House (Helihobby) had a bunch of customer canopies in the case last time.

I don't know if there were any Raptor 90 Canopies, but there might be.

Glad to see you are getting it going again!

FYI, I keep seeing more threads on the pins coming out of the nylon tail gears, both in front and back on Raptors-don't know if you saw this.

Keep us posted on you progress!

Mitch call HeliHobby up and ask for Nikki 818 348 4354. She can get you any canomod canopy in a day or two I think she said.

Didn't even know the 90 was down glad it is almost back up though.

I heard the same thing when I got mine, never a problem. But then again, I paid special attention to making sure I didn't have a problem with it. All you have to do is tighten the set screw good and some loctite.

I'll double check the front, thanks for the heads up.

You'll love flying a 90!

The Trex is a *****in 90.

I'll still have my Rappy for a while but I'm sure I'll be wanting a 700. Will wait and let everyone get it sorted first.

already flew one and it aint that special, it has all the weird plastic tail peices like smaller rexs and is kinda ugly with a big fat frame. stick with what you got that way you already have a parts base.

Couldn't find a custom canopy for the Rappy that was priced reasonably, so I bought a composite one and I'll paint it myself, again. At least it will be a one off canopy, won't be as nice as the customs but it will be my work and all that really counts is how it looks "in the air". One of the places I checked, they were "out of the office", they had cool stuff but I couldn't buy one. Maybe later.

All the rest of the parts are on the way. :smokin:

Once the Rappy is back up flying I'll get back to the 600Np.

Yeah it looked great Mitch can't wait to see the next one...

My buddy and I are going to fly our 600N at 6:30am until it is too hot to fly. I am shooting for a gallon of 30% by 10am I really just want to fly my nitro.

Man I hope this heatwave is over soon I have to run my motor rich and I get 8 minutes per tank. :(
